Totally new this time, we swear!

Evo-Fusion is a technique that strengthens and evolves weapons. It differs depending on the characteristics of each Transformer, and its possibilities are infinite.<ref>Takara Tomy product description for Evolution figures</ref>

Legacy: Evolution

[edit]
Deluxe Class Scraphook

The primary gimmick of Legacy: Evolution, Evo-Fusion is a continuation of Siege's "C.O.M.B.A.T. System", focusing on interactivity between weapons and figures through the use of 5 mm posts. Succeeding the Weaponizers is a new tribe of modular Junkions that can mix and match body parts and accessories to create unique robot and vehicle modes, or armor and weaponry for other bots. In a first for the concept, these Junkions can transform without the need for partsforming.

For most characters who had toys prior to Legacy, the "Evo-Fusion" gimmick is simply re-enacting features that the original toys had. Otherwise, the Evo-Fusion ability is once again about combining weapons to form new ones.

Notably, Evolution Core Class figures are not advertised to have Evo-Fusion abilities.

Notes

[edit]
  • While released in the first wave of Evolution toys, Breakdown is solicited as a Legacy toy, and is not regarded as a figure with the Evo-Fusion ability.
  • The figures from Evolution sublines, such as the Toxitron Collection, as well as package refreshes like Dirge are not advertised to have Evo-Fusion.
  • Oddly, Armada Universe Optimus Prime lacks any Evo-Fusion designation on his box or description, despite being a new mold for Evolution with numerous features.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Evo-Fusion (エヴォフュージョン Evo Fyūshon)
