At A-1, Farley pretended to be a potential customer for the Mechanic in order to be able to arrest him. At first, he only could get in contact with the Mechanic's accomplice Juan. By offering much less than the car thieves wanted and demanding to get a talk with the boss if he were to pay the big numbers, he eventually got to meet the Mechanic in person at a wreck yard. Badging the duo, Farley revealed himself as a cop and ordered his colleagues to arrest them. He may have participated in the chase that followed when the thieves miraculously found themselves a getaway car, but it doesn't matter much since they got away, making Farley's efforts on the operation for naught.
