Flysailor
- Flysailor is a Laser Beast from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Flysailor (フライセイラー Furaiseirā) is an oddity among the Laser Beasts. Where most of his allies are cold and calculating, Flysailor is a free-spirited, flighty type. Cheerful and optimistic, he flits through life and is known for getting even the most stoic of his comrades to crack the occasional smile. He's also a very unconventional thinker, coming up with wild ideas other Laser Beasts would not even begin to contemplate.
But it would be a grave mistake to think he's not a dangerous opponent. He's as committed to the Laser Beast army as anyone, and puts his considerable skill to use in furthering their goals. He's incredibly mobile in water, moving with blinding speed and making unpredictable, seemingly-random rapid movements to confuse and overwhelm his foes. And true to his animal-type, he's capable of making high leaps to attack from any angle. His Sea Freeze Laser (シーフリーズレーザー Shī Furīzu Rēzā) MVP Weapon can encase targets in a -80 Celsius block of ice, leaving them easy prey for a followup attack.

Toys
[edit]Beastformers
[edit]
- Flysailor (Laser Beast, 1988)
- ID number: 84
- Accessories: "Sea Freeze Laser" MVP weapon (usually)
- Part of the first assortment of Takara's Beastformers individually-boxed Laser Beasts, Flysailor is an anthropomorphic flying fish in high-tech hot pink armor. He comes with his "Sea Freeze Laser". He has a transparent orb in his torso, revealing the elemental power of Fire, Water, or Wood when you look through it into a light source.
- Nominally, he comes with the fish-themed "Sea Freeze Laser" blaster. However, there is also a chance he could come with the weapon from one of the other 11 Laser Beasts in his shipping case; matching the Beasts with their same-numbered weapons was part of the "role-playing game" attached to the line, encouraging kids to buy more of the toys.
- This toy was actually released in Hasbro's Battle Beasts line as part of the "Shadow Warriors" series, but they saw extremely limited distribution, largely hitting clearance chains in the US, plus limited releases in parts of Europe. As such, it generally goes for a bit less than the later Laser Beasts that were only released in Japan, but not a lot less. There is a minor variant to the gun that has popped up in some EU and Canadian samples: the common version has the "84" ID number stamped on the left-hand side on the fin of the fish, where the variant has it on the cheek of the fish (which also has a larger "eye" than the common version).
Notes
[edit]- It is unknown what Flysailor's Hasbro Battle Beasts name would have been.
