The harmony is a sound capable of immense destruction, even if it is put to use in space. It is the main weapon the people of Eurythma possess to defend themselves against outside forces. However, due to the harmony's power, as a safety measure, only three Eurythmans know the specifics of the sound, and then only a third of it each. These three are Basso Profundo, the leader of the Eurythmans, Zebop Skandana and Allegra.

Soundwave: "That was heaven. The purest, most vibrant, most perfect harmony I've ever heard."

Blaster: "Weapon? That was no weapon. That was... harmonic bliss. A musical kiss!

The Transformers cartoon

[edit]

Due to another fight between the Autobots and the Decepticons, a comet was hurled towards the planet Eurythma. Its people spotted it well in time and used the harmony to destroy it, unaware of the Transformers in the comet's vicinity, who took the hit as well and crash-landed on Eurythma. Galvatron saw use for such technology and set out with Soundwave to obtain it. In turn, Ultra Magnus, Broadside and Blaster went after them to protect the Eurythmans and prevent the Decepticons from obtaining the musical weapon. Using Broadside's plane mode, the Autobots got to the Eurythmans' city first, but Basso Profundo refused their help, accidentally mentioning Allegra. Both the Autobots and the Decepticons—the latter eavesdropping—realized they had to talk to her next. Burying the Autobots under layers of rubble, Galvatron got to Allegra first and offered to overthrow Basso's rule for her in return for the harmony. She accepted, unleashing the sound for Soundwave to record. Galvatron was unpleasantly surprised to find out then that Allegra possessed only a third, and the guy back in the city and someone else he didn't know of at all had the rest. Still, trying the partial harmony outside proved to wield pleasing results.

The Autobots arrived shortly thereafter with Zebop, who had offered them his help. Soundwave attacked the group with the part of the harmony he already possessed, forcing Zebop to use his part in defense. Recording that too, Soundwave unleashed the power of the combined parts on the group. Allegra, displeased with the turn of events, used her part against Soundwave in an attempt to stop him, but was also taken out. The Decepticons left their foes to get the final part of the harmony from Basso Profundo.

In the city, Basso experimented with a harmonic amplifier to make his part of the harmony potent enough to get rid of the Transformers fighting near the city on his own. It didn't work. Galvatron and Soundwave then arrived and unleashed the nearly completed harmony on both the Autobots and Eurythmans. Attempting to defend himself, Basso used his part of the harmony on them, incidentally handing out the last ingredient. Soundwave used the full harmony to defeat the Autobots and Basso before following Galvatron to Earth in order to destroy Metroplex.

With Zebop's trust and the destruction the Decepticons caused as evidence, the Autobots were capable to convince Allegra and Basso to come with them to Earth. On Earth, the three Eurythmans stopped Soundwave's attack on Metroplex by countering the harmony with anti-sound. At the same time, Blaster ran up to Soundwave and punched his buttons, erasing the harmony from his tapes. Carnage in C-Minor

Legends comic

[edit]

Blaster kept data on the harmony and would later share it with Soundwave for the sake of battling Devil Z, who was defeated by their combined "Harmony Power Duet Attack". After their victory, Soundwave had hoped to use the combined power of the harmony and Zodiac to conquer the world, but Blaster had expected this and made it so that particular harmony could only be played once. Notes

[edit]
  • The destructive harmony is the focus of the episode, but the Eurythmans are stated to use various harmonies to support their society. The only other to be utilized during "Carnage in C-Minor", not counting anti-sound, is one that heals.
