Heavytread is an Autobot Commander from the Power Core Combiners portion of the movie continuity family.
Everyone go home; we have a winner!

Heavytread loves Earth and all life that thrives there. Compared to his own species, Earth's lifeforms are delicate and fragile, which only makes them all the more precious to him. He is devoted to protecting them and their planet from the ruthless Decepticons, and became a Power Core Combiner for this reason.

Power Core Combiners

[edit]
  • Heavytread with Groundspike (Commander Class, 2011)
Part of the fourth wave of Power Core Combiners, Heavytread transforms into a tank of unknown design resembling an Israeli [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Merkava|{{#if:||Merkava}}]] main battle tank. He comes with his Mini-Con partner Groundspike, who combines with Heavytread in vehicle mode to form a clawed [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}mine plow|{{#if:||mine plow}}]] similar to the US Marine Corps Assault Breacher Vehicle. Heavytread also has a third super robot torso mode that can be equipped with any Power Core Combiners drone limbs. Unusually, the main turret is not attached in package, but must be assembled upon opening.
Wave 4 only barely made it out to normal retail at first, meaning most fans had to get him from online stores. At the back end of 2011, the later Power Core Combiners started showing up at discount chains.
This mold was also used to make Tankmaster.

  • Power Core Combiners Value Pack (Value Pack, 2011)
Heavytread and Groundspike were made more readily available at retail as part of a Walmart-exclusive Black Friday "Value Pack", combining a 5-pack team with a Commander 2-pack via packaging tape and a couple of stickers.
Heavytread has been found attached to the Stakeout/Protectobots and Steamhammer/Constructicons sets.

Notes

[edit]
  • Heavytread's robot mode bears a striking resemblance to Generation 1 Brawl, while his torso mode head is seemingly based on another Brawl.
