What year is it even?

Hollenbeck is a US Navy operator. To him, overseeing attacks on hostile alien robots has become something of a routine, to the point where he has a hard time telling the difference between various battles. Nevertheless, he fulfills his duty with the utmost dedication, and whenever a target is acquired, he doesn't hesitate a moment before launching an attack.

Revenge of the Fallen film

[edit]
This feels oddly familiar.

Hollenbeck was on duty on board the USS Kidd when a man who identified himself as Agent Simmons of Sector Seven contacted Captain Wilder of the USS John C. Stennis and informed him that the mother of all non-biologicals destroying the Great Pyramid of Giza in an attempt to blow up the Sun. Simmons was aware of the existence of a prototype rail gun, and asked Wilder to relay a ready order to the properly equipped ship, which turned out to be the USS Kidd. It was Hollenbeck who oversaw the subsequent attack on the alien robot using the rail gun, and after confirming that the target was acquired, the Kidd fired its rain gun, thereby successfully destroying the mechanical intruder. Dark of the Moon film

[edit]

Two years later, the alien robots had taken over Chicago and slaughtered a good portion of its human populace. However, a group of brave American soldiers, with the help of some mechanoid allies, had taken the battle to the enemy. The US [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Director of National Intelligence|{{#if:||Director of National Intelligence}}]], Charlotte Mearing (and, most likely unbeknownst to Hollenbeck, her old flame Seymour Simmons), oversaw the entire operation. At one point, the on-site soldiers requested remote backup, and it was decided to launch Tomahawk missiles to attack their robotic adversaries. Once again, it was Hollenbeck who oversaw the deployment of the Tomahawks, and after confirming that the target was acquired, a good chunk of the missiles struck the enemy, thereby providing the soldiers and their alien allies with an opportunity to turn the tide. Notes

[edit]
  • The reason Hollenbeck (whose last name is visible on his uniform) appears in both films is simply because Dark of the Moon reuses footage from Revenge of the Fallen. However, the footage is cut differently between both films, with the shot featured in Revenge of the Fallen going on for a bit longer, whereas the shot featured in Dark of the Moon starts a bit earlier, with a pan across the mission control room completely missing from Revenge of the Fallen.
