The Hub is a vast sentient intelligence at the heart of Cybertron that stands in contact with all of the planet's being, which includes the population and Unicron. Two Transformers have a special relation to the Hub, the first being Sig-Omega, who is the keeper of the Hub, and the second being the Prime, who has the ability to access the Hub from anywhere on the planet.
How the Hub relates to Primus or the other planetary supercomputer concept Vector Sigma is unknown.

[edit]Energon comic
[edit]When Optimus Prime approached Over-Run for help regarding the status of Unicron, Over-Run advised him to ask the planet. This confused Optimus, but Over-Run elaborated that there was an uplink platform at the southern polar peninsula that stood in direct contact with the planetary mainframe and that could be used to access the Hub. Despite the High Council's denial that such a construct existed, Optimus gave it a try. As he lay his hands on the uplink platform to find the activation mechanism, a connection was suddenly established that brought him from the physical reality into a metaphysical one, where he was welcomed by Sig-Omega.
Immediately getting to the point, Sig-Omega showed Optimus what he had been looking for. From planet mode Unicron, the Terrorcons left for Earth to lay claim on its abundant supply of energon to revive Unicron with. Through the Hub, Optimus was also contacted by Megatron, believed dead up until then, who revealed he had been a prisoner within the spark core of Unicron for the past ten years. Demanding Optimus's aid in breaking free, he also promised that in return, he would tell Optimus how he could defeat Unicron once and for all.
The connection was then broken and Optimus was brought back to the physical realm. This Evil Reborn With the new knowledge, Optimus returned to the High Council and asked them to reconsider providing him with the resources needed to put an end to Unicron permanently. However, because he had no evidence and the High Council, a political unit composed of the oldest members of the Transformer species, had never heard of either the Hub or Sig-Omega, they were only barely willing to allow him to commence the mission on his own. What Lies Beneath This predictably didn't go down well with Optimus, but he was barely given the time to be frustrated when suddenly Unicron's Four Horsemen attacked Cyber City. The battle was a disaster for the Autobots until the arrival of the Omnicons, who not only posed more than a match for the Four Horsemen themselves, but also provided Optimus Prime with the information that Over-Run had merely told him of the uplink platform to distract him from his confusion, because he, as Prime, could access the Hub from anywhere on Cybertron. Leaning this, Optimus Prime accessed the Hub, which launched a planet-wide upgrade in the form of the Spark of Combination to counter the extreme threat to the planetary stability. The Hub let him go then to fight the Four Horsemen with the message that the fate of many worlds depended on him. What Lies Beneath, Part Two
