The Indian maharaja is a human from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Indian maharaja is a member of Indian royalty and a kind one at that. To provide his people with green energy, he rebuilt his own palace, located off the Malabar Coast, into a solar power station. The maharaja is surprisingly European-looking for someone from India.

In order to divert the Autobots' attention from their human protégés, Megatron sent Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker to India to attack the maharaja's solar power station. The maharaja was just in the process of checking the solar collectors' production speed when the three seekers blew a hole in one of his palace's wall. Skywarp picked him up and suggested his comrades they'd play a game of catch with the maharaja, but Starscream wanted him disposed of pronto. Before Skywarp could do so, the Autobots arrived. Optimus Prime saved the maharaja and let him escape the palace, which was subsequently utterly and completely trashed by the battling parties. The Ultimate Doom, Part 1
