José Santa Cruz (March 14, 1929April 26, 2024) was a Brazilian voice actor and comedian. He voiced hundreds of cartoon characters since the 80s, including King Randor on Masters of the Universe (both the '80s and the 2002 shows), Tiamat on Dungeons & Dragons, Sergeant Cosgrove on Freakazoid! and the third voice of Dr. Hibbert on The Simpsons. He was also the official voice of Magneto in Brazil, having played the character in nearly every appearance since assuming the role, including the '90s X-Men cartoon, X-Men Evolution and the live-action film series.

In terms of live-action dubbing, he voiced Andy Sipowicz on NYPD Blue, Earl Sinclair in Dinosaurs, Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, and several characters played by Danny DeVito. His work as a comedian includes parts on "A Praça é Nossa" and "Zorra Total".

  • Curiously, his delivery of Megatron is much more similar to Hugo Weaving's, since he uses a much more aggressive voice with the villain than Frank Welker originally did.
