"La Guerre des Robots" (War of the Robots) is a song that was released in France in 1987. The vinyl also featured a new version of Transformers, pour un monde meilleur, another theme song.

Its name is the exact same name that was used for The Transformers: The Movie in France. However, neither of these songs are used in the film.

To this day, it is still unknown who actually sings this song, since the artist has not been credited on the disc. Some sources say it would be Philippe Russo, but this remains to be confirmed.

It tells the battle of Autobot the heroic Transformer!

Lyrics

[edit]

Original French

[edit]
Cybertron, ma planète
Adversaires pas très chouettes
Que faire pour la sauver ?
Seul pour nous libérer
Autobot le héros
De la guerre des robots
Voiture à vive allure
À danger immédiat
Vite, transformation !
Force, puissance, action !
Pour un monde plus sûr
Vaincre ces brutes là

Transformer, Transformer
Héroïque défenseur
Transformer, Transformer
Super look looker

Partout, la violence
Amène la souffrance
En un super laser
Juste le temps d'un éclair
Sous les cris et les pleurs
Enfin l'ennemi meurt
Autobot a gagné
Liberté retrouvée
Victoire du héros
De la guerre des robots
Le soleil nous sourit
La bataille est finie

Transformer, Transformer
Univers des vainqueurs
Transformer, Transformer
Super look looker

Transformer, Transformer
Héroïque défenseur
Transformer, Transformer
Super look looker
Transformer, Transformer
Univers des vainqueurs
Transformer, Transformer
Super look looker

English translation

[edit]
Cybertron, my planet
Not very nice opponents
What to do to save it?
Alone to free us
Autobot the hero
Of the war of the robots
High-speed car
Of immediate danger
Quick, transformation!
Strength, might, action!
For a safer world
Defeat those brutes

Transformer, Transformer
Heroic defender
Transformer, Transformer
Super look looker

Everywhere, violence
Brings suffering
As one super laser
In a flash
Amid screams and cries
Finally the enemy dies
Autobot won
Freedom regained
Victory for the hero
Of the war of the robots
The sun smiles to us
The battle is over

Transformer, Transformer
Universe of the winners
Transformer, Transformer
Super look looker

Transformer, Transformer
Heroic defender
Transformer, Transformer
Super look looker
Transformer, Transformer
Universe of the winners
Transformer, Transformer
Super look looker
Back of the sleeve with the lyrics of the two songs.

Notes

[edit]
  • The singer pronounces "Transformer" instead of "Transformers", probably for the rhymes.
  • Oddly, the hero seems to be named "Autobot".
  • The lyrics on the back on the sleeve indicate "C'est pour nous libérer" ("It's to free us") but we can rather hear "Seul pour nous libérer" ("Alone to free us").
  • Still on the sleeve, the lyrics say "Transformers" and use plural, but the singer clearly uses "Transformer" and singular everywhere.
  • Strangely, Autobot kills his enemies "Amid screams and cries", does this imply that he caused human casualties?
  • What does "Super look looker" even mean?
