The fusion creatures are humans experimental evolutionary freaks from the Animated continuity family.

Pretenders hide the Transformers inside.

Meltdown's greatest dream is to create the organic equivalent of a Transformer; a human that can take on any form it desires. To that end, he attempted to manipulate two adult humans genetically. Sadly, the experiments failed, and he was left with a pair of hideously mutated fusion creatures which may be as powerful as any one of Prime's Autobots, but fall short of the glory for which Meltdown was aiming. They now act in a similar capacity as Colossus Rhodes, playing the role of loyal enforcers/bodyguards.

The fusion creatures include the bat-monster, made from Black's lawyer, and the Seafood Louis creature, made from Black's stockbroker.

Meltdown created the pair on Dinobot Island, and while he planned a similar experiment on Sari Sumdac, he left Prowl and Fanzone to battle the mutants. The pair managed to hold their own and escape, capturing Meltdown in the process. The fusion creatures and Rhodes tracked them down, but were soundly walloped by the Dinobots. Later, Meltdown used the pair to keep Optimus and Grimlock occupied while he experimented on Blackarachnia. Unfortunately for him, Grimlock was much more powerful than either of the two mutations and coupled with the appearance of Swoop and Snarl the fight ended early, causing the mutants to run away in terror. The fusion creatures, or entitles that looked like them, were part of Purple Wicked Convoy's collection of monsters. God Neptune comic 1

Notes

• The fusion creatures are modeled after the Pretenders Bomb-Burst and Submarauder.
• The creatures' character models were designed by The Batman/Ben 10 character designer Thomas Perkins, with tweaking and cleanup by Derrick J. Wyatt.
• In their first appearance, they are about the size of Captain Fanzone and Prowl. By their second, they have grown to the size of Optimus Prime and Grimlock.
• According to The AllSpark Almanac, the shark-like creature (nicknamed "Seafood Louis") was Black's stockbroker.
• Also in The AllSpark Almanac, an ad for the movie Monster from Mars shows Pretender Skullgrin in the style of the other fusion creatures.
