N.E.S.T. Sentry

N.E.S.T. Sentry is an Autobot from the Kre-O portion of the movie continuity family.
With Evac gone, it is now the turn of the Sentry :D :D :D

The N.E.S.T. Sentry guards from the shadows... apparently, since you'll never see him around the N.E.S.T. stations in Orlando or Hollywood.

Is it a man-made drone? Are there many of them? Are they a fully-sparked Autobot who toils in obscurity? Who knows?

Kre-O

[edit]
The N.E.S.T. Sentry is an olive-green version of the Kre-O Kreon Micro-Changer Beachcomber (using the 2015 revamped style of Kreon), only without all of the "extra" bits not directly attached to the robot mode that actually allow it to form a "dune buggy" mode. (It is currently uncertain if said relevant parts were ever released in olive-green in the other Kre-O franchises, and even then, this shade of olive plastic is paler than the olive used in, say, the G.I. Joe kits.)
The Sentry is only available in a 2020 Universal Studios exclusive Kreon four-pack, with Bumblebee, Megatron, and Optimus Prime. Prior versions of this set had ride-character Evac in the fourth slot, but that character's seeming removal from all Universal park merchandise (but not The Ride itself) led to the creation of the Sentry to take his place.
Currently, this set is not technically available online, only at the at-park gift shops immediately outside The Ride. Ordering the Kreon 4-pack via Universal's online shop will almost certainly net you the prior Evac-release version. It can however be specifically ordered over the phone by calling the Universal store's customer help number (found online) and requesting the version with the N.E.S.T. Sentry. Please be nice to the person helping you with this order.

Notes

[edit]
Coincidence or intentional homage? The world may never know.
  • The Sentry is quite possibly the last Kreon to ever be made. Sadness.
  • The set the Sentry comes in lacks the prior version's "Kreon 4-pack" markings. It also has a completely different UPC from the Evac versions of the set. But it takes the exact same slot in the shops, and it's a lot easier to call it the "Kreon 4-pack" when talking to the overworked people handling the Universal phone line when trying to obtain this version of the set.
  • The packaging render for the Sentry is a straight recoloring of the Beachcomber render, complete with inexplicable misplaced 1x1 rounded gray plate just hovering over their right shoulder.
  • A Beachcomber redeco might seem an odd choice to fill the gap Evac left, but it actually has a basis in past Transformers movie lore! The Revenge of the Fallen Beachcomber toy was a redeco of Fallen Dune Runner, who... okay, was based on a Sector Seven vehicle, but he's a drab-olive with gray dune buggy and has NEST markings. So could this guy actually be a Kreon of Dune Runner? Could be! Additionally, a Sector Seven buggy can be found on display outside the ride, so he somewhat fits the 4-pack's theme of "characters that you'd find at the park" (although the buggy itself is actually identified as Landmine).
