As part of their journey onto Nebulos, the Autobots were programmed to speak Nebulanese. Highbrow was ordered to find the lifeforms of Nebulos to give them a recorded message, a task which he immediately set out to do. After finding two lifeforms engaged in what the thought was a "binomial data transfer", their slack-jawed reaction to the giant robot led Highbrow to conclude that they could not understand Nebulanese. Their utterances of sentences corrected Highbrow's misconception. Ring of Hate!

When Zarak contacted Cybertron, the Decepticons picked up his signal, originally in untranslated Nebulanese. Cyclonus (or Krunix) feared that the signal was an Autobot trap, but Scorponok noted that the sounds were not of Transformer make and ordered the universal translator turned on. Broken Glass!
