The Transformers

[edit]
  • Dead End (Stunticon, 1986/1987)
  • Drag Strip (Stunticon, 1986/1987/1990)
  • Accessories: gravito-gun, plasma-energy blaster, connector
  • Wildrider (Stunticon, 1986/1987)
All four of The Transformers Stunticon limbs came with double-barrelled weapons (identified as plasma-energy blasters in their instructions) that could be attached to their vehicle modes via connectors.
They were also available as a Menasor giftset and were reissued as part of the European/Australian Classics line. Additionally, in 1990 Drag Strip was offered as a mail-away by Weetabix breakfast cereal in the UK alongside the Aerialbot Fireflight.

Notes

[edit]
Schrödinger's plasma-energy blaster
  • Although all four Stunticon limbs came with plasma-energy blasters, for some reason Drag Strip was the only one to have his called out in his packaging bio and mentioned in his Marvel Universe profile. This may be why the other three Stunticon cars' weapons had new names in their Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye profiles; Breakdown's became a concussion cannon, Dead End's was a compressed air cannon, and Wildrider ended up with a plasma cannon.
  • The Stunticons were planned to be redecoed and released as part of Generation 2 but were ultimately cancelled, with only Breakdown seeing limited release as a BotCon exclusive. While he was packed with redecos of his concussion rifle and plasma-energy blaster, his instructions refer to them only generically as weapons and neither are called out in his packaging bio. As such, the large weapon could represent a plasma-energy blaster but equally it could represent a concussion cannon, or indeed another kind of weapon entirely.
