Plutarch wrote of an existential crisis that Alexander the Great once suffered. In the modern era, both Joe Colton and Garrison Kreiger would become familiar with this text, the former through fortune cookies, the latter through undisclosed means.

When the two were preparing for their assault on Cybertron, Colton referenced Plutarch's writings, surprising the scientist with his knowledge of the literature, before asking Kreiger about his obsession with the Talisman. Krieger revealed that he viewed the mysterious device as a calling to galactic conquest. One Unholy Machine
