[edit]During World War II, famed U.S. hero Sgt. Savage investigated the country of Kalistan, which intelligence reports suggested was getting help from aliens.
Decades later, after Unicron's attempted attack on Earth, General Hawk began experiencing visions which led him to an old World War II bunker, where he found Sgt. Savage frozen. On reviving him, Savage told Hawk of what he'd learnt, and the two started snooping around Kalistan. They soon discovered ties between the country's ruler, Count von Rani, the terrorist organization S.K.A.R., and the Decepticons. Using technology from the defunct I.R.O.N. Army, the Decepticons had binary bonded to leading members of S.K.A.R. In response, the G.I. Joe team called "the Screaming Eagles" bonded with a group of Autobots, and a world-wide battle ensued. Along the way, Trypticon and Fortress Maximus got involved, causing terrific damage to the Earth's magnetosphere. In desperation, Hawk released the energy of the Matrix, which healed the damage at the cost of throwing him out of reality.

General Hawk wound up in Axiom Nexus, where he became a member of the Convoy. His name was among the classified data stolen by Cy-Kill's Renegades and publicly released by Crasher and Cop-Tur in a hacked broadcast of Ask Vector Prime. Ask Vector Prime, 2016/01/16
