Rush's status as an inflammatory media host is a reference to conservative talk radio host [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Rush Limbaugh|{{#if:||Rush Limbaugh}}]]. His dog alternate mode, meanwhile, is a reference to the robotic canine Rush from the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Mega Man|{{#if:||Mega Man}}]] video game franchise.
