Salazar is a human from the live-action movie continuity family.
Damn you, Salazar! DAMN YOU, SALAZAAAARRR!

Cockier than even Agent Simmons, Agent Salazar was an operative of Sector Seven stationed at Hoover Dam. He believes that the actions of his agency are not only for the betterment of the human race, but could also provide them with a means to defend themselves against an alien threat. Using information obtained by both the agency and other intelligence sources, Salazar is heading up the Landmine" project and is waiting to test his creations on the battlefield.<ref>The Reign of Starscream trade paperback bonus material</ref> He has a promising future ahead of him, or so he thinks.

He is presumably a descendant of Howard Salazar.

Salazar accompanied the deactivated Wreckage to a secret Sector Seven base in Nevada, and supervised his reactivation. After an apparently fruitful information-sharing agreement, Salazar shut the Decepticon down. Alliance #1

Upon seeing N.B.E. 3 and learning the name the creature called itself, Salazar first checked to make sure his superiors were otherwise occupied, and then revealed his pet project, L.M.-1, hoping to open negotiations with the extraterrestrial. Though Starscream was impressed when the vehicle Salazar showed him began to transform, he quickly became less than patient when it shorted out. Snatching up Salazar, Starscream grilled the human for answers. When Salazar could not provide them quite so readily, Starscream took the better part of valor and fled the incoming fighter jets for the relative comforts of space.

...Starscream's gonna need some disinfectant.

Unfortunately, the alien's cockpit proved to be nowhere near airtight nor pressurized, a fact which proved rather unfortunate for Salazar. The Reign of Starscream #2

After Salazar's death, Professor Vine reported to Seymour Simmons that Sector Seven was unable to reactivate Wreckage. Alliance #1 However, when Wreckage was accidentally reactivated by a shard of the AllSpark, the Decepticon rampaged, intent on tearing Salazar limb from limb for his humiliating imprisonment. Alliance #2

  • It was revealed in bonus material in the The Reign of Starscream trade paperback that Salazar's death in Starscream's cockpit was deemed too graphic, so the giant POP! was placed over the most gruesome parts.
