The Invisibility Factor

[edit]
The following summarizes one or more multipath adventures. Details vary depending on the paths taken in-story. See the book's page for information on alternate paths.

Sarah Sanders was in the process of testing her invention, the Invisibility Device, in the middle of a desert at night when Hot Rod and Kup came up to her. Frightened at first, but won over by Hot Rod’s boyish charm, Sarah explained to the two Autobots what she was doing out alone in the desert.

In one possible scenario, upon being informed of her invention, Hot Rod snatched the Invisibility Device away from Sarah. Despite her protests, Hot Rod insisted that the Invisibility Device would be put to its best use in possession of the Autobots. He drove off, leaving Sarah and Kup behind in the middle of nowhere.

If Hot Rod and Kup attempted to politely coax Sarah into giving them the Invisibility Device willingly, Sarah informed the Autobots that she had a strong stance against her invention being used for warfare. As the three of them stood conversing in the open, they soon heard the Decepticons approaching. As the evil robots began to fire upon them, Hot Rod whisked Sarah away to safety. Upon realizing that the Decepticons weren’t pursuing them, and that the Invisibility Device had been left behind, the trio hid behind some nearby rocks to spy upon the Decepticons, who were busy inspecting Sarah’s ship and her Invisibility Device. Whether or not the Autobots retrieved Sarah’s device and brought it back to her depended on which choices the Autobots made from this point on.

In another possible scenario, upon first landing Sarah encountered not the friendly Autobots, but the fiendish Decepticons instead. Her spacecraft was dragged away, and Sarah was held captive by Scavenger.

If the Autobots decided to rescue Sarah immediately, Scavenger dropped her, and cried for help while attempting to flee. Whether or not the Autobots pursued Scavenger, they eventually came to talk with Sarah. She explained to the Autobots that she was in the process of destroying her invention, for fear of it being used for warfare. Before she could accomplish her task, the Decepticons had hijacked her invention.

If the Autobots asked Sarah to build for them their own Invisibility Device, Sarah refused, stating she would not be an accessory to warfare. As she tried to run away, the Decepticon Dirge made an attempt on her life. Sarah was rescued by Hot Rod and brought to Metroplex for her own safety. Once there, Sarah expressed her gratitude to her rescuers by showing them how to create an Invisibility Scrambler, which would undo the effects of her previous invention. With its help, the Autobots defeated the Decepticons.

In another possible scenario, Sarah managed to regain control of her ship thanks to the Autobots’ help. She then took off in it, vowing to make sure it would never be used for evil purposes.

In an alternate scenario where the Autobots silently trailed Scavenger while the Decepticon held Sarah Sanders captive, Sarah was brought into the Decepticons’ secret desert base. Inside, Galvatron demanded from her the secret of invisibility. When Sarah refused, Galvatron ordered Bombshell to use his Cerebro-shells to mind control Sarah into telling them. In one scenario, Bombhsell succeeded in controlling Sarah’s mind, and with her knowledge, the Decepticons conquered the Earth. In another, the Autobots created holographic illusions to distract the Decepticons, while they scooped up Sarah and ran with her. Sarah directed the Autobots to where she had seen the Decepticons bring her ship. Upon following her directions, the Autobots came upon two doors, unable to tell behind which one they would find their means of escape. If the Autobots happened upon Sarah’s ship as they were, they would be destroyed by the droids guarding it. However, if the Autobots first opened the door which lead to a closet filled with Decepticon spare parts, they found a pile of spare Decepticon emblems. Donning them, the Autobots were able to fool the Decepticon Droids guarding Sarah’s ship. Escaping in the ship, despite the Decepticons best efforts to stop them, the Autobots returned to Metroplex. Sarah then gave the Autobots the secret to her Invisibility Device, ensuring the Autobots their victory in their war against the Decepticons. The Invisibility Factor
