Slash is an Autobot Dinobot from the Power of the Primes portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Slash is the newest member of the Dinobots, an elite tracker who combines her keen senses with sensitive scanners to find her targets.<ref>Power of the Primes Slash packaging bio</ref> When paired with a Prime Master, she tends to use her newfound power to further hone her tracking abilities. However, Slash dislikes operating alone and tends to stick close to her allies, which she refers to as her "pack". <ref>"Technorganic Secrets"</ref>

Generations Selects Special Comic

In 2050, Slash attended a meeting with her Dinobot big bros on Dinobot Island, during which they saw a time gate open to reveal the Quintessons, who immediately sought to subdue the Dinobots to sell as merchandise. The Quintessons summoned Predaking for assistance and he had Grimlock on the ropes till he tapped into Earth's Angolmois Energy to manifest a pair of Magma Blades, to Slash's excitement. To even the odds, Predaking took Slash hostage, but the Dinobots were able to combine into Volcanicus to defeat Predaking and save Slash. In the battle's aftermath, the older Dinobots were contacted by Spike Witwicky, who requested assistance with the Selector revolt. The five Dinobots left to help, but not before Grimlock left Slash in charge of the island. Volcanicus comic 1

Competing with the Rust Renegades to find the Prime Cores first, Grimlock declared that what the Dinobot team needed was Slash. Beastie Bots Shortly thereafter, following Grimlock's explanation of Slash's history and personality, Slash appeared. Days of Old She declined to give details of her secret campaign on Cybertron, but the Dinobots soon turned their attention to the Quintus Prime Core and the Decepticon competition. Rogue Wars

  • Class: Special
  • Lowest Star Rating: 2 star
  • Weapons: Slash rips defenses apart with her Velociraptor mode's sharp claws, and for some reason she uses some weird green beam (Fire breath?) to attack defenses from afar. She doesn't really have any bot mode weapons.
  • Ability: Hunter Camouflage - For 10 seconds, you are invisible to defenses and use attacks dealing damage with a 50% chance to deal 2x damage and stun for 7 seconds.
    • Cost: 7 ability points +2 for reuses.

While confronting Barrage deep in a network of Insecticon tunnels on Earth, a group of Autobots under the command of Perceptor discovered Slash in stasis lock, half-buried at the back of the chamber. After one of the Autobots fed her Primal Energon, she jolted awake and entered a battle frenzy, targeting the Insecticons. Having no memory of how she ended up buried here or for how long she had been buried, Slash was dazed and confused. The Autobots had to convince her to return with them to the Ark and reunite with the other Dinobots.

Once Slash was persuaded, she assisted the Autobots in gathering up the remaining Primal Energon and transporting it back to the Ark. Grimlock was overjoyed to see his old friend again and thanked the Autobots for rescuing her, calling them close friends to the Dinobots.From Yesterday to Today

In some alternate universes, Slash’s alternate mode was equipped with heat-dissipating duraluminum alloy feathers, allowing her to withstand heat-based attacks. Technorganic Secrets

Power of the Primes

They show extreme intelligence–even problem-solving intelligence. Especially the Big One. We bred eight originally, but when she came in she took over the pride and killed all but two of the others. That one... when she looks at you, you can see she's working things out.
  • Dinobot Slash (Legends Class, 2018)
Part of the first wave of Power of the Primes Legends Class toys, Slash can transform into a robotic approximation of a Jurassic Park-style Velociraptor. Her beast mode jaw can open and close, and a Prime Master in Spark mode can fit inside the compartment on her beast mode back once it is opened. Though she was released alongside her five teammates who combine into Volcanicus, Slash does not form any part of the Dinobot combiner. In both modes, she is fairly small for a Legends Class figure.
There is a variant of this toy sporting the slightly-different movie-style Autobot insignia on her robot-mode chest.
Early CG stock renders of her robot mode omit the silver paint on her shoulders.
The Prime Master cards that come with Slash are not multilingual like the others. Instead, each of them repeats the same English phrase four times. However, a multilingual Quintus Slash card was found...inside a Power of the Primes Dinobot Slug package.
This mold was retooled with a new robot mode head to make Cindersaur.

  • Slash is inspired by the Age of Extinction character of the same name.
  • Concept art of Slash depicts her as transforming into a different kind of dinosaur and reverse-gripping a pair of knives.<ref>Transformers Facebook video: "LEAKED FROM CYBERTRON"</ref>
  • While Slash was advertised as the first female Dinobot, this isn't quite correct. Slash is the first female Dinobot to receive a toy, as well as the first female Dinobot with an actual dinosaur mode, but she was preceded in fiction by the female Dinobot Strafe, who appeared in the 2005 IDW continuity and transforms into a draconic [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Orthrus|{{#if:||Orthrus}}]]-like creature. (Incidentally, Age of Extinction Slash was also intended by designers to be female, but this did not make it into published bios.)
