The soul is the living essence of beings. It can be used in contrast to or be considered a synonym of the spark.
Human souls may be the same as Jinchōkon.

[edit]When discussing the concept of a spark with Optimus Prime, Cade Yeager likened sparks to human souls. Afterwards, Optimus would remark on Galvatron's lack of a spark with the declaration of "You have no soul!" Later still, when saying goodbye to Cade and the others, Optimus told them, "whenever you look to the stars, think of one of them as my soul." Age of Extinction
