Talk:All Hail Megatron issue 14
...."the eyes of a headless Sunstreaker"? Am I the only one finding that this statement makes no sense whatsoever? --Detour 17:52, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
- Duly modified. However, not having the issue in question, I was only able to make a best guess on what was meant from context. Someone with the issue in hand should double-check my edit.--Apcog 18:24, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
I wonder if the continuity Errors in the Sunstreaker story are actually down to Sunstreaker being an arrogant, delusional jerk? It is all from Sunstreaker's POV, after all. I admit, at first I thought it was another of Shane McCarthy's gleeful promotions of previously competent bots to superhero levels, but the Hunter@Machination dialogue in particular struck me as Sunstreaker deluding himself and rewriting the past to suit his arrogance. Could this section be rebadged as "items of note" instead? (Danforth from the IDW forum)
- That may be the best solution, but without any evidence to support the idea of this being Sunstreaker's delusions, it's all pure speculation, and we try to avoid that here. In fact, I'm going to comment-hide that sentence for now. The only reason I won't outright delete it is that if someone at IDW ever confirms that this issue is, indeed, Sunstreaker's delusional POV, we can restore the sentence with its counterpoint that said twist is never made clear.--Apcog 19:11, 26 August 2009 (EDT)
- I will fight against such an inclusion. They would just be covering their arse for steamrollering over Devastation. --FFN 12:59, 10 September 2009 (EDT)
Isn't the delusion made clear by the last panel after where hunter says "teach me" there is static. It seems clear to be a memory cutoff point.
It is hard to see the static panel as anything, but an indication of memory alteration.WiT 13:56, 22 August 2013 (EDT)
Dead Universe "Decepticons"?
[edit]Are they ever directly stated as such? Because the Dead Universe Cybertronians predate the factions.--RosicrucianTalk 20:24, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
- Good point - I'll adjust it. --MistaTee 21:44, 20 August 2009 (EDT)
Redirect
[edit]I know why it's been done, but considering that the much more likely search is The Rebirth, wouldn't redirecting to the trilogy make more sense User:Eire 18.19 Aug 21 09 (UTC)
"Cameos"
[edit]I reject the idea that the generics include Side Burn, Roulette, and Bulkhead. If they're intended homages, they're altered enough to the point where it doesn't matter anymore. (People DO remember that Side Burn, like, has a big monocle eye, right?) --ItsWalky 08:50, 1 September 2009 (EDT)
I think "Sideburn" is the only one you can make a case for, but it'd be nice if we could get some confirmation from either Josh or Emiliano... --Nu-Priest 08:58, 1 September 2009 (EDT)
- *sigh* --ItsWalky 23:52, 15 December 2011 (EST)
- I'm not sure I see the issue of recognizing those cameos, especially since those characters are established in G1. It's not like they're ever going to show up in positions of importance. (I dunno how this is worse than saying red waitress Transformer is T-AI, either.) —Interrobang 00:05, 16 December 2011 (EST)
- They are not cameos because 'they do not look like them. --ItsWalky 00:34, 16 December 2011 (EST)

Machination?
[edit]I was just wondering, was it ever called the Machination in this issue? I ask because Continuum confuses Skywatch and Machination and all. I wonder if the two organizations are confused in this issue also. It makes the plot holes make a little more sense. It would answer the question "why would Scorponok require them to gather 'data' if he is already familiar with Cybertronian anatomy?" - Starfield 23:13, 15 November 2009 (EST)
- Nope, it was not... But Machination was explicitly stated in other McCarthy-penned issues. --Detour 23:30, 15 November 2009 (EST)
- Not to mention is was also explicit that Sunstreaker's head was kept in a Machination base and he was worked on by Machination scientists in all the other series. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 148.197.5.19 (talk • contribs){{#if:08:11, November 16, 2009 (EST)| 08:11, November 16, 2009 (EST)|}}.
- I know that, you know that, I was just making sure this author knew that. Or, was the name of the organization deliberately not named in this issue because they were planning on clumsily retconning it in Continuum or something like that. - Starfield 10:21, 16 November 2009 (EST)

Roulette note
[edit]"Roulette, a female Autobot, is clearly visible in the crowd of cheering warriors during Sunstreaker's flashback. Jhiaxus, you got some 'splaining to do." Now first and foremost, that doesn't much look like Roulette (probably why she isn't on the cast list), and second of all, after the discrepancy between Spotlight Arcee and Megatron Origin, wasn't it said by either a writer or an editor at IDW that while Arcee was the first female Transformer, didn't mean she wasn't the only one? Or am I misremembering? --Detour 16:48, 16 December 2011 (EST)
