Talk:Anthropoid
I have frequently heard the protohuman from Code of Hero refered to as Hammer. Is this an accepted term for him? If so I think we should apply it as its difficult to refer to him otherwise (Ex. Chak and Una).
- I've never heard this, and I'm very very very wary of using it in a method that could be construed as official. Probably best to not use it. --M Sipher 19:56, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Never heard "Hammer," either. Checking the Code of Hero script shows that it calls him the "Leader Neanderthal." --KilMichaelMcC 20:01, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've heard the "Hammer" nickname before from somewhere, but I can't remember where. Since we seem to be shying away from it, never mind. -- SFH 20:32, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- I've also definitely heard the "Hammer" nickname somewhere, I can't remember where either. To the intarwebs! - Chris McFeely 21:07, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Just for the record, I have no idea why the Chak and Una reference disappeared for my edit. I simply wanted to fix the extra brackets on the external link for "fossil record." The first time I tried, the page had already been redirected, then by the time I tried again, someone else made another edit. Maybe that had something to do with it.--Apcog 19:24, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Junior Scientist Corner
[edit]Let's keep most of the evolutionary speculation out of this article, as most of it doesn't seem to be correct let alone something a wiki about a children's show is equipped to tackle. We can say that the specimens in the cartoon don't seem to match what science terms a "Neanderthal" but all this nonsense about whether or not humans are descended from them isn't even borne out fully by the Wikipedia article linked to, and tends to be something that many diverse theories have cropped up about in paleontology and evolutionary biology. We can point out a "mistake" if we see one, but let's not overreach ourselves just to be smartasses.--RosicrucianTalk 15:16, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

- Sorry for getting crabby, it just bugged me.--RosicrucianTalk 15:52, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- No need to apologize, I was in fact "overreaching just to be a smartass", and I'd also gotten my paleontology wrong. You did exactly the right thing. JW 16:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Where does "protohuman" come from and is it actually used more than "Neanderthal"? —Interrobang 14:49, 24 October 2009 (EDT)
