Sorry, I guess that's an old April Fools joke that got left. You see, there was this comic book series from Dreamwave called Micromasters, and the art was bad. Incomprehensible. So confusing this art was, that in a later letters page, they had to clarify that "That thing in the sky is not the Planet Quintessa, it is Astrotrain." So, uh, disambiguification link ahoy. Because it's hilarious. To me.

Blitzwing and Astrotrain's fiction section orderings

I think SFH moved the Marvel Comics section up front because I often move that section up front because issue 1 published before the animated series debuted. However, I need to make it more obvious (by which I mean, put it in writing, instead of just being something I do...) that this is only so cut-and-dry for the 1984 characters. The real rule I have in mind is to list first the continuity in which the characters debuted. For example, 1986 movie characters would have the movie listed first, rather than their Marvel Comics appearances, as the movie was the genesis of these folks. And, in the case of the Triple Changers, I'm fairly certain they would have shown up in the cartoon before they showed up in the comics. (For example, in the cartoon, two of the three are pre-movie characters, but in the comics they don't arrive until Megatron and Prime are long dead.) This means, of course, that for the vast majority of G1, which continuity to list first is not so terribly obvious. Use your best judgment. --ItsWalky 04:49, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

While I was an anonymous user I added full details for Astrotrain's locomotive mode in IDW after trawling through archives of the three major US locomotive manufacturers (Electro-Motive-Divison, General-Electric, Alco) to find a match. Someone then deleted it for no apparent reason. Since it's relevant and accurate info that I went to an effort to research, I've put those details back in. --Rbdavies86 07.59, 15 March 2008 (GMT)

Pesky tailfin

On the original toy, is he supposed to have his tailfin folded up and tucked away, or folded out flat like overgrown pecs? The pic shows him both ways. JW 13:48, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes. Seriously, it could go either way. The box art and instructions indicate that the fin should be split as a chestplate. The fin gets tucked away early during the transformation to keep it out of the way. However, the original animation model (and thus his other fictional appearances) show it tucked away in robot mode. War Within absence

I... think it's because Astrotrain only appeared in a roster list for the Predacons found in the trade paperback (like Grotusque). So, he doesn't actually appear in the story, but his membership is still noted for completion. —Interrobang 04:01, 12 November 2011 (EST)

It's a general problem with old issue articles. People only put "major" characters in the FC section and sometimes relegated "cameos" to the notes section. It's part of the reason I'm going through all of the Marvel issues now. —Interrobang 05:05, 12 November 2011 (EST)

NASA stickers

The writeup for Astrotrain's original toy says that when Takara reissued him in 2004, they replaced the "NASA" stickers with "ASTR". I was going to include him on the NASA page, but I don't see any stickers saying "NASA" on our toy image or the toy images on tfu.info or Shmax. Titans Return

Alright, so TR Astrotrain is officially confirmed now (thanks to Hasbro Australia), so I've taken the liberty of editing the article to add some info on his toy, as well as noting the toy on Sentinel's article and the Titan Master article.
