Talk:Beast Wars II: Super Lifeform Transformers (cartoon)
Reformatting
[edit]In either the anime or manga, is there a particular in-universe reasoning given for why the Cybertrons on Gaea had to reformat themselves into organic modes upon arrival, but those Destrons with vehicle modes (like Megastorm) didn't have to bother (initially, at least)? --Nerroth 03:21, 16 March 2010 (EDT)
- Not as such. Gaea is mentioned as having an atmosphere that will corrode the Maximals' bodies, so they take protective beast modes a la the original BW cartoon, but I can't recall any reason for the Predacons evading the effect. - Chris McFeely 07:14, 16 March 2010 (EDT)
- It is somewhat surprising to see such a discrepancy - unless the Predacons had some other kind of protection worked into their systems, or something. (Ah, a good excuse to set an IDW story on Gaea...) --Nerroth 18:03, 16 March 2010 (EDT)
- No over sight there, remember the Cyerbertrons scanned local Fauna, but the Destrons DOWNLOADED local mecha-forms from the super-computer thingey, also to avoid the corrosive effects. Which is why the Destrons have earth-style vehicle modes, despite not having any need to "disguise" themselves from the locals.--Destrongerlupus 13:09, 29 November 2010 (EST)

PROPER MARKS OF RESPECT
Since Beast Wars (Mainframe Entertainment show) was Canadain, the proper marks of REspect should be shown. Ex. On the Beast Wars II page, it has Aerican season 1 and American season 2 and 3. Thats wrong, its not American, change it to Canadian.
Romanization
[edit]With the recent release of Beast Wars II subs from Karyuudo, I noticed the episode titles are written differently at times. What is the source of the current episode title translations, and are the new subs a "better" translation? --Xaaron (talk) 10:37, 18 April 2016 (EDT)
- Much of it comes down to semantics; choosing one synonym over another, not really worth changing a title since they're both acceptable translations. As for the source, I recall that we originally used the translations from Dave's Beast Wars page that were done way back in the late 90s, early 2000s (by Hydra, I think?). They were then fine-tuned gradually over the years here, though they could probably use a new once-over considering the reinvigorated interest in BWII created by the recent fansubs. That said, I wouldn't necessarily retitle every episode article to align with the fansub titles, since again, many of those just come down to semantics. --DrSpengler (talk) 10:41, 18 April 2016 (EDT)
- Okay, I wasn't sure. I know some Headmasters and Victory titles were refined since the lists I first read, and didn't know the last time anyone took a good look at the BWII titles. --Xaaron (talk) 10:58, 18 April 2016 (EDT)
- I wanna say the translations we use are from Apcog, but the discussion regarding them seems to have disappeared because of the 2009 crash. I think the only real meaning change is them translating 最後の戦い as "The Battle's Conclusion", which doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. 最後 here means "final" and is used to mofify the "battle" part, so I don't know why their translation reverses it. The Continuity section
[edit]Since it refers to the continuity of the BWII franchise overall, shouldn't that section go on the main BWII franchise page rather than this page, like how the RiD 2001 franchise page has one of its own? --Sabrblade (talk) 11:42, 22 October 2016 (EDT)
