Talk:Blastizone
Somebody please make the Blasty Zone article, even if it's a stub. I don't know anything about it, or I would do it myself. PS make it funny kthx. --Steve-o 04:56, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- I know it's what Robot Masters Megatron's dudes travel through to get to 2004, but other than that, it is outside of my knowledge. Is it an actual zone? Just a portal? This is unknown to me! All I know is, it's a hilarious name. --ItsWalky 05:19, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
This may be my favorite stub on the wiki. -hx 07:17, 7 November 2009 (EST)
Not to ruin the fun, but Hydra's translation of the Robot Masters relation chart (http://www.allspark.com/content/view/734/37/) suggests that the proper spelling is "Blastizone", which may in turn suggest that the humor of this article (and the topic itself) is based on the wrong vowel sound.
Alternatively, I suppose it's possible that Hydra's translation is misleading, and the wording/parsing of this article may be an attempt to Anglicize it more closely to the intended pronunciation. Either way, I thought it might be worth bringing up. Luke 17:13, 31 January 2010 (EST)
- The Japanese spelling for the name is "ブラスティゾーン", which in roomaji reads "bu ra su ti zo n". Both "Blasty" and "Blasti" are acceptable renderings, though they're both essentially utter nonsense. With that in mind, let's keep it as-is since there's no point in changing it from one nonsense word to another when the current rendering is just fine. Also, making it one word like Hydra did, "Blastizone", is just stupid. --DrSpengler 18:00, 31 January 2010 (EST)
- Sounds like good reasoning to me. I certainly don't have any expertise in the language, so I'm certainly willing to defer to you. I just noticed the discrepancy and figured I'd bring it up in case it made a difference. Thanks! Luke 17:03, 1 February 2010 (EST)
Bloody Zone Draft
[edit]TASA:II makes an (idiomatic) reference to the Zone (naming a drink at Macadam's after it) called "Bloody Z." Sufficient to settle the name debate move the article and move to Bloody Zone? -Derik 11:16, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- You know, I nearly replied to this when you first posted it, and I thought "No, it's just Derik being Derik, nothing will come of it". And now for some reason you decided to move the page to something we don't call it anywhere else on the wiki, and merge in "the Bleed", and justify this because the Allspark Almanac named a drink something that might be a reference to the variant version of the place's name because it happened to contain the word "bloody" like an actual alcoholic beverage?
- Can't you keep yourself busy with your Bumblebee dude ad page? -LV 18:42, 25 July 2011 (EDT) (PS: vote to revert)
- Derik, I swear, I will give you the back of my hand. - Chris McFeely 19:11, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- I had the same initial reaction as LV. Then I see you went and moved it using your "whims" as a reason. Really? I realize you were grasping at straws in the first place but how did you figure that was gonna fly? --Tigerpaw28 19:52, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- *shrug* The Bloody Zone exists.
- Bleed exists.
- They're both red-tinged zones you pass through to travel between worlds named for the same bodily fluid.
- Ooh, I'm so crazy to think they're the same one. -Derik 20:59, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- A little bit. --ItsWalky 21:07, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- I can't tell if you're being sarcastic. -Derik 21:09, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- Have... either of those actually been shown to be red-tinged in Transformers fiction? - Chris McFeely 21:11, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- ...it's called the Bloody Zone.
- Is the counter-argument that "Bleed" in Transformers means a completely different form of inter-dimensional travel than the same-named thing from outside properties?
- ...also Jim Sorrenson replied: Ah, this was caught up in my spam filter. Yes, it was named after the Blasty/Bloody Zone, though of course the Bloody Mary also inspired it. I think this drink was named by Bill Forster - most of the drinks were.
- Which at the very least makes "Bloody Zone" the dominant of the two names. -Derik 21:17, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- I don't understand how that makes it the dominant of the two names. Can you elaborate on that point? --KilMichaelMcC 21:45, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- Happily! It was unclear which name was correct, "Bloody" or "Blasty." The AllSpark Almanac II used "Bloody" when referencing the Zone. A case of ambiguous naming resolved by a later source picking one of the names to run with.
- I suppose one could argue he was referencing the name ambiguity rather than picking one name as more correct, but Jim didn't indicate this was the case. Should we e-mail Bill Forster to be sure? -Derik 21:53, 25 July 2011 (EDT)

- Also, unless I'm mistaken this Robotmaster comic depicts Victory Leo emerging from the Zone, and it is red. (I'm not entirely sure though, have the robotmasters manga been translated?) -Derik 21:37, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- So, let's be clear. You used the "fact" that they're both red-tinged as an argument for them both being the same thing, and this is apparently a fact you just made up. Why do you do these things? And why aren't you prevented from doing these things? Chip 21:47, 25 July 2011 (EDT)
- I'm sorry, I don't follow what you're saying. -Derik 21:53, 25 July 2011 (EDT)

YAY
[edit]I'm excited that all this bullshit resulted in one of the funniest pages on the wiki turning into this. -LV 08:36, 27 July 2011 (EDT)
- Also why is there a move proposal tag for a move that was rejected A YEAR AND A HALF ago? -LV 08:37, 27 July 2011 (EDT)
- One person calling it dumb isn't what I'd call a rejection. But if having a goofy name is that important to you, then fine. —Interrobang 14:08, 27 July 2011 (EDT)
Transwarp
[edit]Is there anything keeping this also from being an incarnation of Transwarp Space?KrytenKoro 19:04, 27 August 2013 (EDT)
- Meh. It seems to me that the Blasty Zone is the *portal*, which leads through transwarp. I feel like merging it in with all the other generically-named things does it a slight disservice and would rather let it keep its own article. - Chris McFeely 19:12, 30 August 2013 (EDT)
