It's actually not a continuity issue in this case. Both the Cybertron cartoon and Galaxy Force cartoon Planet Xs originate in the Generation 1 continuity family; the former coming from the universe of the Fleetway Generation 2 comic and the latter from the universe of the Marvel comic adaptation of the 1986 movie.
