Rewrote because "he's not stupid because he's minority, but stupid because..." sounds so very wrong. --ItsWalky 05:34, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
Re: the new trivia from Reader's Digest Transformers Armada Official Guidebook that claims Carlos is 10 years old and Rad is 12. Doesn't that seem odd? Why would he be friends with Rad given this age gap? Wouldn't that make Carlos be in the fifth grade (roughly) while Rad would be in junior high in the seventh grade (roughly)?
I'm sorry if I'm misinterperating american school structures --FFN 14:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- They could also possibly be in fourth grade and sixth grade, but of which are still elementary school; but even if they're not, there are many elementary schools that have middle schools attached to them, effectively going from kindergarten straight through grade 8. It might not even be a full two year gap at all: while a couple of years makes a big difference at that age, it's still pretty common to have friends in a grade above you, or one below you. I have a birthday that's late in the year, so when I was in elementary school, I was effectively a year younger than all my classmates; so a two year gap isn't unreasonable. --Suki Brits 15:28, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ahh so that's what a middle school is. Yeah they go to Lincoln Middle School. Thanks --FFN 15:59, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
vandalism
[edit]this page needs full protection because of all the vandalism. Who agrees? Mandofett 6:43 AM EST March 2 2007
- The "Dammit, Canada" line isn't actual vandalism, just a joke. One that I would agree isn't particularly funny and kind of unnecessary, as it steps on the joke at the end of the line right above it. --KilMichaelMcC 11:55, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with Kil -- the Canada joke is not vandalism, it's merely an unfunny joke that lessens the humor of the previous joke. I'm fine with removing it. Mondofett -- if you had put in an edit summary the first time you took it out that simply said it ruined the previous joke, your edit probably wouldn't have been reverted in the first place. However, since there was no summary it appeared to be a knee-jerk "joke = vandalism" edit, it was reverted right away by one of our regular editors. --Steve-o 14:44, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- It sure is funny when we're all RIGHT ON about political correctness and making fun of Japan for their appalling stereotypes and attiudes in this very wiki, eh? This is a case of how Voice Box, a Canadian (and thus western company) should have known better than to have its writers, voice director and actor apply such an appalling ethnic stereotype to the ethnic minority character. I recall a few latin-american members of TFW2005 were abit embarassed in the discussion thread for this episode when it aired. --FFN 18:10, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Personally, I think the "Damnit, Japan" style jokes are unfunny too, but I know I'm drastically outvoted on those. Regardless, I think there is a difference in that those jokes are generally pointed at specific Japanese cultural things, like the sameness of many anime series, the sexism in Kiss Players, etc.. (Things that are not neccesarily dominant in their culture, but which are a visible part of it.) As far as I know there isn't a recurrent "Canadians don't understand Hispanics" thing for the joke in this article to be targeted at. I don't understand why it's "Damnit, Canada" instead of "Damnit, Voice Box", for example. Why implicate the whole country? Plus, as I said before, I think this joke removes the dry humor of the previous paragraph. Anyway, I'm happy with the article as it stands at the moment I'm making this comment. --Steve-o 21:03, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps it's because Canada is a seething hive of latent fascism?:):)--Autobus Prime 21:17, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- I implicated Canada as a whole merely to emulate the various 'dammit Japan' jokes around this wiki. I'm no defender of Japan, I was just trying to keep things vaugley consistant. --FFN 08:03, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

- To go back to the original comment- I don't think any page has full poop protection on this wiki. And why would you full-protect a stub- basically ensuring it will never grow beyond Stub status?
- And finally- I understand you thought the Canada thing was vandalization, but what else was to justify your 'all the vandalization' comment? There's nothing there to vandalize unless someone stuck in a 'poop' I didn't notice.-Derik 18:43, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, its gone, I expanded his bio, but I'll need to rewrite it later. Its sounding too much like a detailed summary of the actual episode. --FFN 19:16, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
