Talk:Cheetor (BW)
Should 1-2-3 Transformers Cheetor go here, or in his own section? - Monzo 11:06, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Contrary to what TFU.info insinuates, I'm pretty sure Go-Go-Gobots is its own continuity, and so they shouldn't be counted as bodies for G1 Mirage, BW Cheetor, and the like. --ItsWalky 18:24, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
Stat blocks
[edit]Mr. 1337Intellect guy? We totally cannot have stat blocks on these pages that ignore every appearance of these characters outside of Beast Wars, and stat blocks for EVERY body the characters have had would go on for several pages at three columns wide in some cases. -Rotty 19:31, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- One thing I like about this- it adds a place for body-specific weapons/abilities. There's some merit in that. -Derik 23:38, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
Japanese version
[edit]I went and removed the statements that the Japanese release of the original Cheetor toy was more show-accurate than both the original US release and the BWX toy, as at tfu.info, the only difference I could tell between the US green-eye and the 2nd Japanese release was that the J 2.0 had red eyes and a gold-painted forehead hexagon, where the US (and J 1.0) had green (or gold) robot eyes and a blue forehead hexagon, which ends up more-or-less of a tie show-accuracy wise, with the FoxKids! and BWX toys losing out for their blue forearms and feet. --FortMax 23:54, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Transtech = Same character?
[edit]Someone already added the section here but I get the impression Tt Cheetor (and the other Transtech guys are going to be new alt-reality characters needing new pages. Other folks agree?
Um, no. Transtech picks up directly after Beast Machines (and Universe now), and all the characters (except a few) are either returning G1 characters or the same Maximals from the Beast Era. To me, cataloguing Cheetor as a Transtech character would be like catagorizing Beast Machines Cheetor as a different guy "because he looks different". Savvy? Darktruth 22:12, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's been outright stated by the writers of the Transcendent comic that Transtech no longer takes place after Beast Machines as may have been originally intended, and is now being treated its own continuity. It was a fandom topic of debate for at least a month. Someone's not savvy, certainly! --ItsWalky 22:42, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- No, he's a different guy because he's from a different reality than the BM/BW reality. Transtech Cheetor is apparently a native of an ancient continuity and ranking security official of a multiveral hub-city. There's NO indication this Cheetor has any connection to the BW/BM one, and Wiki policy says he should get his own seperate page. --ZacWilliam 22:32, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Where did you get that from? Darktruth 22:38, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- The people who write the comic. --ItsWalky 22:42, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Transtech has a comic? (BTW, I'm sorry about what I said up there. All that I knew about TT came from some concept art.) Darktruth 15:30, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- Another thought- Could TT Cheetor and Silverbolt be alternate-universe-incarnations of the BW/BM characters? (Which kind of makes sense, because the Axiom Nexus is the "hub" of the multiverse.) After all, TT Cheetor and DOFP Cheetor's car modes look awfully similar.Darktruth 15:38, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- For the love of God, man. http://www.transformersclub.com You never get to call anyone else unsavvy again. --ItsWalky 15:39, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- You are certainly right about that. I apologize for all the crap I barfed up. Darktruth 18:16, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Beast Machines too long
[edit]The Beast Machines section seems to have been changed to a VERY length character analysis. It's really not consistent with the rest of the Wiki or even the rest of this article
Radical surgical intervention
[edit]This is probably the most major character to have needed the most severe rework / rewrite for the longest period of time on this wiki. Beast Wars isn't even done, and all of Beast Machines is some sort of English Lit essay that is in the wrong style, nearly impenetrable, and if you even read it it doesn't actually convey what Cheetor DOES. I asked the essay author at least 8 months ago to please try to correct it and he hasn't. So I'm cutting it ALL, since I think leaving it up here can give the false impression that this article is a lot more "done" than it really is. If people really want to read through and pick out the events of each episodes as part of a rewrite they can certainly look at the history page, but honestly I think the best bet is just a start from scratch.--Thylacine 2000 11:26, 13 June 2009 (EDT)
Thylacine--I'm very sorry I didn't do the edit of that section. I was preparing to cut it down when the bookwork deal hit the site and the Cheetor page rolled back--I actually assumed that the Beast Machines section had been cut permanently by the roll-back. I would be happy to redo what I have, as I still have the original, though I have to protest that I most certainly did not post it 8 months ago. In fact, I put it here only a few weeks before the bookwork fiasco. I'm sorry it didn't meet the standards of the site; I'm used to another kind of writing, I'm afraid. The Beast Wars section is also rather piecemeal, and I actually find it easier to talk some about his transformation as a character instead of tracing every one of his mundane actions in canon (he's in just about every episode, after all). I might also add that some review of his relationship to other characters and some analysis is not to be feared, though I'm sorry you found it impenetrable. I will also note for the record that I am a she.--Aubretia 2:36, 25 June 2009 (PST)
- I love each and every one of you who rebuilt and rewrote this article. --FFN 03:29, 30 November 2009 (EST)
Kid Appeal Characters
[edit]Why are kid appeal characters ALWAYS yellow? You've got Bumblebee, Cheetor, Hot Shot... I thought it just merited pointing out.
