Errors?
[edit]Perhaps this is more of a nitpick than anything, and it certainly applies elsewhere as well as here, but I'm not sure that certain kinds of coloring "errors" really deserve mention as "errors," per se. Take this cover, for example. The red and blue are obviously shortcuts taken, rather than bothering to color each robot as it should be colored. But is such a shortcut an "error"? Surely the colorist didn't believe that these were the robots' real colors!--G.B. Blackrock 20:59, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Then there's the matter of the reference to steam locomotives and wooden boxcars. If this were an anachronism (say, a person writing a story set in 1860 had a diesel engine), that would clearly be an error. But although neither steam locomotives nor wooden boxcars are in current use, who's to say that the kids weren't playing in a disused portion of the railyard, or perhaps a portion preserved in a certain way for historic (or "museum-like"?) purposes? This is not to deny that the artist here was probably unfamiliar with more modern locomotives, and simply drew what he knew about. But is it something that really deserves to be called an "error"? (I'll fully grant that my case on this one is less strong than with the red and blue robots on the cover)--G.B. Blackrock 20:59, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Those aren't Bruticus's or Defensor's colors. They're not even reduced-pallete versions of them. It's possible that Yomtov was going for some specific look with this... but I'm damned if I can make it out. It simply looks wrong.
- I think, instead of typing something myself, I'll just repaste what GB already wrote: "The red and blue are obviously shortcuts taken, rather than bothering to color each robot as it should be colored." Because, yeah, that's obviously what's going on here. It's not an error, it's a style choice. --ItsWalky 21:28, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
- Sunstreaker is shown in a flashback to Cybertron a few centuries ago during the Underbase saga. Should we not call this an error because its POSSIBLE this was a separate character even though the story didn't present it as such? Taken at tis face, it's an error.
- (I prefer this section be called Errors & Oddities, for just this reason.) -Derik 21:08, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
