Talk:Construct-Bots
I think those toys should just be on the Aligned pages. Mimi 22:33, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
- I think these toys should have the toyline's actual friggin' name used. --ItsWalky 23:00, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
- I know one guy at Toy Fair apparently claimed the faction symbol was an "A", but that isn't borne out by Hasbro's own usage. Their press releases, their display placards at BC, and - seemingly - the filenames of the promo photos they've sent out all refer to the line as "Construct-Bots". Methinks the guy at Toy Fair just found himself saying it wrong and came up with a CYA. -LV 23:20, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
- Dammit, and every preorder page on the internet uses the A. --ItsWalky 23:28, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
- Entertainment Earth doesn't, FWIW. I thought about linking there too. -LV 23:31, 3 July 2013 (EDT)
- How about we mention the name confusion (listing specific sources to back up our position on the matter) in the article itself?--Nevermore 13:18, 25 October 2013 (EDT)
- I thought about adding it, but in the end, it boils down to "A guy said something some time, people were confused, but all the official materials agree." Hardly something we need to document. - Shellspark 14:30, 25 October 2013 (EDT)
- Listings at Walmart.com and Target.com still disagree, thus still causing confusion for people who don't directly follow the official Hasbro sources.--Nevermore 12:47, 26 October 2013 (EDT)

The Construct-Bots online game on the main site has images of Cybertron and a space bridge in the battle section that look like they've come straight from Prime. On the other hand, there's an intro video with the Decepticons are hanging out in a volcano base and the Autobots pranking them Kre-O style, so... --abates 05:31, 5 August 2013 (EDT)
- So have we decided whether these are a separate thing like Kre-O or not yet? --abates (talk) 19:18, 30 December 2013 (EST)
- The character pages have taken a stand. They say "...an Autobot from the Construct-Bots continuity family." This page still says "It is not clear yet what, if any, continuity they fit into." The Beast Hunters sub-line adds another dimension, as discussed below. I lean towards the Beast Hunters sub-line being Aligned because they are labeled Beast Hunters. The other characters are pretty much from an indeterminate continuity. I don't think we know enough about them to declare they for-sure are from a new continuity family of their own. - Gimmick (talk) 17:51, 25 March 2014 (EDT)
Predaking
[edit]For the list of figures, how should the Target-exclusive Predaking be listed? It's not classified in any size class, is the price of a Triple Changer but isn't one, and has bot the Construct-Bots and Beast Hunters: Predacons rising trade dress on its package --Nemesis Primal 00:16, 16 October 2013 (EDT)
- He should probably go into a 'Store exclusives' section after the main list, like other toyline articles have. Jalaguy 01:52, 16 October 2013 (EDT)
Construct A Bots revisited
[edit]Just saw a shipping case at my local TRU a few days ago and noticed that the A was present in the name on the box. --Khajidha (talk) 07:55, 18 March 2014 (EDT)
Beast Hunters being Prime guys.
[edit]I don't think we should do that, considering we didn't make the Kre-O guys with the banner of Beast Hunters the same guys as their Aligned versions. Escargon (talk) 15:52, 20 March 2014 (EDT)
- It doesn't matter to me. I'd say it depends on if the Construct-Bots are their own continuity like Kre-O, where they are Kreons are actually beings made of bricks. I don't know if Construct-Bots takes itself that literally or not. - Gimmick (talk) 16:39, 20 March 2014 (EDT)
- The scant fiction that Construct Bots has (video's on Hasbro's Youtube channel) are basically them being mischeivous guys like the Kre-O videos, plus the whole aspect of them being able to mix parts with each other really seems to make them not Aligned. Escargon (talk) 16:50, 20 March 2014 (EDT)
- OK, I watched some of the videos. They are silly, no doubt. I don't think they go as far as Kreons do being a different kind of life form. They could still be thought of as "Transformers" who can mix parts around as an ability. The intro video makes it look like the Decepticons invented the technology and Optimus and Bumblebee were surprised about it. From a practical standpoint, it would be easier to put the Beast Hunters toys on the existing Aligned continuity pages as being toys representing a character from somewhere in the Aligned continuity family. - Gimmick (talk) 15:00, 21 March 2014 (EDT)
- As I said, we didn't put the Kre-O versions of the Beast Hunters guys on their pages. Plus, the Autobots were already into mix and matchable forms, which wouldn't be the case if the Decepticons hadn't invented the technology. Escargon (talk) 17:02, 21 March 2014 (EDT)
- Was there ever a decision not to put Beast Hunters Kre-O guys on Aligned character pages, or did it just sort of happen that way? The only discussion on the Kre-O talkpage is from the beginning of Kre-O and talks about making new pages for them so we don't have to pick and choose what continuity any given figure may bet fit into. But if they say "Beast Hunters" on the package, there would be no guesswork. I can see it either way, really. A) Put all the Kreons in their own continuity family because the are brick-made beings, or B) Assume Beast Hunters Kreons exist in an Aligned-continuity family-related universe of some kind and put them on Aligned continuity character pages. - Gimmick (talk) 18:10, 21 March 2014 (EDT)
- The point I'm trying to make is that Beast Hunters was an all lines thing in 2012/2013, and even the non Aligned stuff was branded with it. And Construc-Bots semm to be no where close to being Aligned type guys Escargon (talk) 18:18, 21 March 2014 (EDT)
- I'm not so sure Kre-O Beast Hunters Beast Blade Optimus Prime is a non Aligned character. But I've said more than I meant to about Wiki organization. It really doesn't make a difference to me. - Gimmick (talk) 21:29, 21 March 2014 (EDT)
- What the consensus? My two cents worth's, says that treat them like kreo (and botshots, i think) and give them their own space, but point out the aesthetics in the respective pages... Mini-master (talk) 18:50, 25 March 2014 (EDT)
- I'm not sure what caused TFWiki's rather drastic overhaul in recent days, but I firmly believe Construct Bots should be put in their own continuity (as was until the rehash) and NOT their Generation 1, Prime, or Movie pages. If anyone disagrees (or is responsible for the changes), pleass inform me why this change has occurred. Autoboty (talk) 22:06, 24 May 2015 (EDT)
- Construct-Bots are part of the Iocus continuity, as well as Bot Shots and Hero Mashers. Zakor1138 (talk) 22:15, 24 May 2015 (EDT)
- Yup, Construct-Bots canonically share a continuity family with Bots Shots, Hero Mashers, etc. now, so they've all been consolidated onto single articles. Those kinds of toys are also being duplicated onto the articles of the characters they're based on, for informational purposes. Cause, I mean, Hero Mashers Rodimus is undeniably a toy of G1 Rodimus, and a person looking for toys of G1 Rodimus shouldn't have to go looking through the disambig just to find it. Jalaguy (talk) 06:14, 25 May 2015 (EDT)
- How is HM Rodimus being designed to look like G1 Rodimus any different from the Energon Downshift toy being designed to look like G1 Wheeljack? Why is the first listed as a toy of the G1 character and the second only as an homage? --Khajidha (talk) 08:28, 25 May 2015 (EDT)
- Because Energon Downshift is a character with an active role in a definably separate universal cluster, and HM Rodimus is a piece of forgettable side-line non-character merchandise that's clearly design to just be G1 Rodimus because there's no story or "world" of any kind to HM. And we as a whole need for the wiki to stop grossly over-thinking and separating out forgettable non-character side-line toy-mash-up merchandise as it's own universe and characters, but we've acted too late, because I'm sure it was out choice to separate them in the first place that caused the Iocus cluster to have to even be a thing. - Chris McFeely (talk) 08:35, 25 May 2015 (EDT)
- See, I've never looked at "forgettable side-line non-character merchandise" as being the "same characters" as the ordinary toys, even before finding this wiki so the separation makes more sense to me. I find it odder to see things like Choro-Q on the mainline pages than I do to see Hero Mashers listed separately (or, now, with Construct Bots and other things). --Khajidha (talk) 10:51, 25 May 2015 (EDT)
