Wasn't his name supposed to be some kind of pun in Japanese? Interrobang 19:30, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Not his name. His ship's name is a take off on a Japanese nursery rhyme, though. --Monzo 19:37, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't there actually be a mention of his ship somewhere on this page? -LV 18:32, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Yeah, supposedly it's a pun on "Kuso Convoy", meaning "Crap Convoy" (because he's so damn ugly). In Japanese the names would read "Kurou Konboi" and "kuso Konboi", respectively. Hey, maybe I should add that...--DrSpengler 19:38, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
  • And yeah, his ship's name was also a pun.--DrSpengler 19:39, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
I thought Kuso Convoy was what Break referred to Big Convoy as, unrelated to Crow Convoy. --Monzo 19:41, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
  • He called him that too in the anime. I think it was used both ways. It's posible Kurou/Kuso Convoy sounding similar, and Crow Convoy looking like a pile of crap might just be a coincidence. --DrSpengler 19:44, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't think you should add it until you can be sure of the information. DVD's manga summaries only mention Kuso Convoy in relation to Big Convoy. Here. During the pushups, Break is mentally referring to Big Convoy as Kuso Convoy, which is rather rude. Crap Convoy would be a gentle approximation. --Monzo 19:46, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
  • Oh, I know all about that part. I was reading through those pages today (which is why I uploaded so many pics from his site today). It was just something that sorta "dawned on me" a little while ago, which seems more like a blatant pun. If I add it I'll put a note marking it might just be coincidental. Additionally, it might be some in-your-face irony that his name sounds like "crap" and he's so overly sensative about his deformity. Kinda like someone coincidentilly having a peg-leg and being named "Peggy". --DrSpengler 19:50, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
I... don't understand that line of reasoning at all. Now, I grant, you appear to be operating under a false line of reasoning, as you don't seem to know how his name is actually spelled; it's not kurou konboi, but karoo konboi. See here. "Karoo" doesn't sound anything like "kuso".
(I got this off the Neo/Metals manga artist's webpage ages ago. Unfortunately, it's shut down now, but I managed to save all of his character model sketches for Neo and Metals.)--Monzo 20:01, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
  • And "kurou" sounds enough like "kuso" to me for there to be a working pun. I suppose it's up to a matter of personal interpretation, which is why I'm hesitant to add it. --DrSpengler 20:11, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Huh. Okay. I admit that I completely failed to notice that the manga spelled it one way and the artist spelled it another. Bizarre. (The rest of the manga images are here, along with some other J-BW things.)
While I am sorry for not seeing that, I formally maintain my stance against such an inclusion at this time. --Monzo 20:45, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
I want the full-body character sketch int his article.  :~( -Derik 20:53, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
I guess that'd be allright. I'm not positive of the artist's name, although... hey. My brief antagonism towards DrSpengler vis-a-vis the spelling of Crow Convoy's name led me to find the artist's new website. Too bad it doesn't have any of his old BW work up.

It looks like his latest work is a licensed Sly Cooper comic. --Monzo 21:11, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
  • I'm not that adament about adding the "kuso" thing since, honestly, it isn't even that funny/interesting. It's just been a slow Sunday, that's all. : (

And that Character design would look good in the article, though I kinda like that "BLAARRGGH" image, too. Oh the choices. --DrSpengler 22:04, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
