Toys

[edit]
  • Due to the great similarity between this incarnation of Cyclonus and his Universe counterpart, Hasbro announced that it will not be designing an Animated version of the toy.

Does this comment mean that the Universe Cyclonus toy has been repurposed as Animated Cyclonus? Khajidha 17:05, 23 November 2009 (EST)

No, it means that Hasbro generally has declined to make an Animated figure compete against a Universe counterpart, and vice versa.--RosicrucianTalk 17:15, 23 November 2009 (EST)
Thought that might be it, but the other seemed a possibility so I wanted it cleared up. Thanks. Khajidha 18:49, 23 November 2009 (EST)

Just An Alternate Theory

[edit]

Though the hints in Almanac 2 mostly point to Cyclonus being from Animated's future, I feel obliged to say that one could also interpret them to mean that he's Cyclonus (G1), having somehow gotten dumped into the wrong universe. The fact that he looks much more like his G1 counterpart than any other Animated character also supports this. I think there are enough "from the future" nuances to his story that we should stick with that interpretation, but I figured I'd mention my crazy alternate theory here... JW 20:15, 2 July 2010 (EDT)

I don't think that's possible. If he were G1 Cyclonus, he wouldn't have Starscream algorithms in his programming but, y'know, Bombshell. (Or Skywarp if we want to open up THAT debate again.) And it would make his internal clock being wrong something of a non sequitur. --ItsWalky 20:54, 2 July 2010 (EDT)
Here's my theory: When Skywarp and Thundercracker were floating in space, they met Unicron. Unicron turned Skywarp into Cyclonus and Thundercracker into Scourge sometime in the future. Then Megatron was turned into Galvatron. Cyclonus was somehow sent to the past and that's where we are now. Erimal 13:38, 15 July 2010 (EDT)
Little too much fanon in that theory, unfortunately. JW 14:15, 15 July 2010 (EDT)

Running Gag

[edit]

If Cyclonus is supposedly a future Starscream clone, should we be giving him an appropriate Arnold Rimmer quote? If so, I vote for the somewhat sinister (slightly modified) "You are destined to become me, and there's nothing you can do about it." from Out of Time.
