Unreleased toys

[edit]

I'm bringing this up here because it's where I noticed it, but...there is absolutely no consistency for handling unreleased toys on this wiki. Sometimes there's a section at the end of the toy list, sometimes there's not. It's not always formatted the same way. Sometimes each unreleased toy has an entry like the released ones, sometimes it's a little blurb about all the unreleased toys. Many pages - even pages marked as Feature, like Sunstreaker - don't include unreleased toys at all.

My personal preference would be to list these in the appropriate section of the toy list with a note that they were never released, rather than segregate them to the end, and we also ought to be more careful about going back and removing "Planned to be released" templates (I think we can assume we're not going to see any more Attacktix unless something really unexpected happens). I'm putting my "list all the unreleased Titaniums" project on hold here until we can come to some kind of consensus on this. -LV 15:20, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

botcon 08

[edit]

Isn't he gonna be realesed in bot con 2008.--Autobot Soundwave 03:11, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

They are not the same character, as far as we know. --ItsWalky 03:18, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Then why isn't he, well whoever he is, mentioned on the botcon '08 page.)--Autobot Soundwave 03:27, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
When we receive official confirmation that he's receiving a toy, we will. --ItsWalky 03:26, 11 April 2008 (UTC

Masterpiece

[edit]

Why hasn't anyone posted the new upcoming Masterpiece version of this guy yet? --75.82.9.197 01:14, 14 October 2011 (EDT)

Speaking of that, is there any bio (that confirmed he is the same guy as Dark Hot Rod) released? --TX55TALK 12:00, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
We're not making two separate articles for evil black clones of the same character. —Interrobang 12:02, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
Why not? this wiki's done sillier things before..... --218.208.97.226 14:09, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
Such as? Do note the precedent of Nemesis Prime (G1). —Interrobang 14:11, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
The Nemesis Prime precedent cuts both ways. Remember that there is also Nemesis Prime (Universe) who is also a Generation 1 character. --Khajidha 14:39, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
Where do you get the idea that Optimus Prime (Armada)#Cybertron comic/Nemesis Prime (Universe) is a Generation 1 character? —Interrobang 15:18, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
Your challenge is accepted. I shall now name two things that this wiki has done and that are much sillier than this.
  • The completely arbitrary decision that RID and SG SideBurns are actually the same guy, which wasn't actually supported by anything and later turned out to be completely false anyway?
  • Merging RID and Movie Sideways on the basis of an ambiguously worded easter egg in a book full of cute references, written by people who had nothing to do with the fiction the characters originally showed up in?
Those two displays of complete idiocy were thankfully undone by people with common sense, but my point stands: this wiki has done sillier things than this. --218.208.97.226 14:42, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
I would be careful calling other people idiots. --ItsWalky 15:12, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
David Willis is telling me not to insult people? LOL! --218.208.97.226 15:40, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
The more pertinent issue regarding the separation of Black Rodimus and Black Rodimus Convoy would be their origins; from what we have so far, Black Rodimus was a sentient clone created by Megatron, and the snippet of Black Rodimus Convoy's pack-in comic on eHobby shows him coming out of the clone chamber from A Prime Problem, which was only demonstrated to create remote-controlled duplicates. So I wouldn't rule out the possibility of us having to create two separate pages if they're separately existing characters in the same continuity (by virtue of both being Japanese characters, they both exist in the uber-cartoon-based JG1 continuity), but I wouldn't go and do something like that until we have Black Rodimus Convoy's full bio and comic in English, as it's entirely possible the use of that chamber is just an Easter egg. --Monzo 15:03, 1 November 2011 (EDT)
According to e-Hobby [[1]] (via Hydra), he's a different character. Black Rodimus/Dark Hot Rod exists prior to the events of 2005 and eventually becomes an Autobot, Black Rodimus Convoy exists during Rodimus' stint of leadership and is a Decepticon. Poweredconvoy 22:13, 19 February 2012 (EST)

Toy image

[edit]

I'd really like to have a picture of the toy with no stickers, McFeely, because the fact that Takara went out of their way to not factory-apply his usual hood and door flames implies that Dark Hot Rod isn't supposed to have them. -LV 11:07, 24 May 2013 (EDT)

Yeah, you're quite right. I reconsidered that almost as soon as I'd uploaded it. - Chris McFeely 11:24, 24 May 2013 (EDT)
I can actually probably take some for the wiki this weekend. -LV 11:25, 24 May 2013 (EDT)
