Talk:Dual Energon Swords
Hooks/swords
[edit]The hooks and swords are different weapons. Prime uses the hooks to slice off his parachute in Shanghai. He retracts his swords to punch Megatron during the forest fight. The swords never broke. --FFN 08:34, 8 July 2009 (EDT)
- Yeah... I was the one who put that in there. I noticed after my most recent trip to the theater that the hooks and the blades are totally different weapons. I guess when he ripped apart Grindor's face, while the bottoms were glowing it kinda confused me the first time. I've been meaning to fix it, but haven't got to it yet.--AWT88 10:43, 8 July 2009 (EDT)
Dual?
[edit]I realize that Optimus Prime has a pair of these, but making the article a plural goes against the naming convention of most other weapon articles we've made. If we consider that even Nucleon shock gauntlets entertain the possibility of having only one mounted on your arm, this article looks a bit silly.--RosicrucianTalk 11:47, 6 October 2009 (EDT)
- I think you are right. It is just kind of unfortunate "Energon sword" is so generic-sounding. - Starfield 11:59, 6 October 2009 (EDT)
- Of course, we already (essentially) have an article for it--RosicrucianTalk 12:06, 6 October 2009 (EDT)
- Prime's Battle Bio calls them "Dual Energon Swords", with capitalization. That could be part of their proper name. See here: [1]. --Jimsorenson 12:10, 6 October 2009 (EDT)

Rise of the Beasts blades
[edit]Should we add a section for the arm blades Prime uses in Rise of the Beasts? They're clearly intended to evoke the blades from the Bay movies, especially considering Caple Jr.'s attitude towards the original trilogy being canon to ROTB. -- Kalb157 17:07, 20 June 2025 (EDT)
