Scrap vs Crap
Ok so who here honestly believes the T-Formers are using real swear words such as "Crap"(slang term for feces)? Phantom (talk) 11:16, 18 December 2013 (EST)
I'm pretty sure characters in IDW have used the term before. This isn't new. Sockie (talk) 11:18, 18 December 2013 (EST)
- Barber and Roberts have both been guilty several times in the last two years of using overly-human-y swear words from time to time. This just another of those times, though probably a slightly more incongruous one. - Chris McFeely (talk) 12:31, 18 December 2013 (EST)
- Besides, tons of other fiction has TFs using crap. The live action movies, for example. Escargon (talk) 19:27, 18 December 2013 (EST)
- Picked it up on Earth? Though there's a lot about Transformer linguistics/etymology that doesn't hold to close scrutiny. Sometimes I wonder if Primus didn't somehow peek forward in time, borrow Modern English for a language, and be done with it. ;) --MissRatbat (talk) 08:33, 22 February 2015 (EST)

Ironhide?
[edit]The Ironhide/Nova Prime interaction doesn't make sense. Ironhide has no real knowledge of the events of Revelations and the whole Dead Universe thing as it was previously established that Ironhide has no memories from the early days of the war four million years ago until his resurrection by Alpha Trion in the Ironhide Mini-series (after the Autobots and the Decepticon SS foiled the Dead Universe crew's Expansion). Although I am sure someone brought Ironhide up to speed off-panel (especially in light of the events of Chaos), to me it seems the whole interaction between Ironhide and Nova is a little too familiar for someone who heard about Nova's "world-conquerin' nonsense for millions of years" from somebody else. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Epyon26 (talk • contribs){{#if:10:02, 19 December 2013 (EST)| 10:02, 19 December 2013 (EST)|}}.
- Given that he's characterised as an "old guy", with the post-Furman retconning of virtually everyone else to "more than four million years old", it's quite possible the current writers intend him to have been around when Nova and his coterie were in charge the first time "six million years ago". - SanityOrMadness (talk) 10:02, 19 December 2013 (EST)
- Fair point. But even post-Furman, I feel that Nova was not really thought of as a "bad guy" prior to his leaving on the first Ark. Also, he wasn't really world-conquering but more seen as world uniting (See MTMTE 2012 Annual). Although, I do see what you mean, it isn't an out-and-out error. I think, to me, the dialogue is a little bit out of step for a character who heard about the Dead Universe after the fact. Epyon26 (talk) 11:30, 19 December 2013 (EST)
- None of this is the point of what Ironhide is SAYING, though. He's making a quip about the fact Nova's just offering up some "argleblarg I'm evil" ranting, instead of something more impressive as would befit someone who's got a bit of experience. That doesn't require Ironhide have any knowledge of Nova or what he did or any kind of personal familiarity between the two - all it requires is that he know he was a bad guy who'd been bad for a good long time. He's making fun of his supervillain speechification because he's old enough to do better. That's all. - Chris McFeely (talk) 18:09, 19 December 2013 (EST)
