[edit]We were worried about outright swiping this from Nakas, IIRC.

Old Stuff
[edit]Is it just me or does it seem like the G1 gobots are responcible for the Maximal Upgrade?
"they have brought technologies such as their distinctive transporter devices and biomechanical engineering to this world, contributing to the birth of new generations of TFs like the Spychangers." X-BoB58 00:15, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
That's conjecture. The biomech engineering thing comes from the Tonka GoBots' backstory, in which they are originally organic lifeforms who have moved to having robotic bodies. --M Sipher 03:35, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Shouldn't the article be 'GoBots (G1)'? - RolonBolon 04:57, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
There is no indication anywhere of where the mentioned team bio can be read... --Andrusi 18:50, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Merger with Tonka?
[edit]Over on the GoBots talk page I've raised he possibility of renavating that article (it's a bit messy) and possibly mergeing this one with that. Anyone with any thoughts on the subject? --76.28.72.27 21:08, 7 October 2009 (EDT)
- I'm not sure, but I think these six GoBots are a team of some sort. If they are a team, they should have their own page. Where does "Dimensional Exploration/Experimentation Team" come from? Is that the official name of their team? Maybe the article should move there. I kind of agree that there could be more done to make the Tonka GoBots more in-universe. Maybe there should be a "Tonka" page with all of the real-world information and a "GoBot" page that is in-universe. - Starfield 21:20, 7 October 2009 (EDT)
- The set's name is "G1 GoBots". The team's function is "Dimensional Exploration/Experimentation Team". --Detour 21:28, 7 October 2009 (EDT)
- This page should not be merged as it is about a specific group and not Tonka GoBots in general. --KilMichaelMcC 22:09, 7 October 2009 (EDT)
- Agreed. --unknown
- The toy set is "G1 Gobots," but that's NOT an "in fiction" name, is it? It certainly doesn't sound like one, where "Dimensional Exploration/Experimentation Team" sounds very much like an "in fiction" name for the group. Is it ever used as such anywhere (their aborted bio, club stuff)? Even if not, it's almost tempting to move this to the possible fiction-centric name over the toy group designation just cause it's so much more pleasing. At least for me, your millage may vary.--76.28.72.27 22:37, 7 October 2009 (EDT)
- This page is all ass-backwards right now. What is currently the intro should be the "Toys" section down near the bottom. The first Fiction pic should be the main pic, and there should be a short in-universe writeup with it. And yeah, it probably should be moved to "Dimensional Exploration Team" or whatever. -- Repowers 01:07, 8 October 2009 (EDT)
- I went with the e-hobby art instead of the Withered Hope piece for the main pic. Still not perfect but it's a start. --Detour 01:16, 8 October 2009 (EDT)

Timelines Bugbite toy
[edit]Shouldn't this be in the 'Toys' section? J'mie 18:47, 12 February 2010 (EST)
Japanese-original characters?
[edit]The individual character pages are in the Category:Japanese-original characters. That's not quite right, is it? The characters are Challenge of the GoBots GoBots, aren't they? - Starfield 17:58, 11 May 2010 (EDT)
Individual characters' franchise of origin
[edit]Related to the question above, the franchise of origin for the individual characters is GoBots, is it not? Or is it just heavily implied to be GoBots? Would it be appropriate to put on the individual character pages:
- Bad Boy is a Renegade posing as a Decepticon from the GoBots continuity family.
And use some kind of GoBots image for their mainpic? - Starfield 21:37, 29 May 2010 (EDT)
- Since this is not a GoBots wiki, we only use information pertaining strictly to Transformers, including the franchise of origin. No where on these pages are entries for their original toys, and it's a big lie to say that, for example, Path Finder's toy originated from the GoBots "continuity family." --ItsWalky 21:43, 29 May 2010 (EDT)
- (Some day, can you just start, y'know, adding information the old-fashioned way instead of constantly trying to rewrite the way we do things?) --ItsWalky 21:44, 29 May 2010 (EDT)
- Yea, I see even the G.I. Joe guys say "from Generation 1".
- ...But then again, G.I. Joe is a little different. G.I. Joe was part of the Marvel Comics continuity, so it can be said that those characters are "from G1".
- From a certain point of view, it could be said that character represented by Path Finder's eHobby toy originated from the GoBots "continuity family" since their function is the "Dimensional Exploration/Experimentation Team" and they are implied to be inter-dimensional explorers from the GoBots universe (only not explicitly stated so for copyright concerns). FunPub later made it official. I'm not saying the eHobby Path Finder toy is from the GoBots franchise, but the "character" Path Finder pre-dates the eHobby toy and originates from GoBots.
- I'm not trying to be argumentative. Honest. I want to do things the way the wiki does it. - Starfield 22:47, 29 May 2010 (EDT)
- While you have a point from a fiction sense, we do the franchise of origin from, well, the toy franchises. The GoBots in question have TF toys, and said toys are from the G1 toy franchise, ergo that's what we go by. --Jeysie 23:51, 29 May 2010 (EDT)
