I know I know, plenty of Convoys and whatnot, but it's going to seem really weird for, say, Groove's intro paragraph to say that he's a component of Defensor, Gaia Guardian and God Guardian. Surely we can "translate" the "Guardian" part of the name to "Defensor" in non-toy-based parts of articles? -LV 14:39, 31 January 2012 (EST)

- I'm with Interrobang, Gaia Guardian isn't Defensor any more than Abomenaticus is Abominus.
- I would, however, be comfortable with declaring Heatrock and Skyfeather to be Protectobots. That would make Gaia Guardian and God Guardian just two of the configurations the Protectobots can assume, like the different configurations of Build King or Ruination. -Derik 15:45, 31 January 2012 (EST)
- Prefix or not, it's still an actual name. There is no direct English counterpart to "Gaia Guardian", regardless of the source of sections of it, and anything we would come up with would be fanon, just like how "Big Prime" or "Compersor" would be. —Interrobang 15:58, 31 January 2012 (EST)

- I think we should reexamine this idea. The fact that we now have a Defensor who includes another character than the original 5 Protectobots while still being the same character seems to me to mean that Defensor is the name of the robot formed by any group of Protectobots. The idea that a combiner has a set group of members has fallen by the wayside in the wake of the live action Devastator. As LV points out, the "Gaia" and "God" prefixes don't seem to mean any more than the prefixes on "God Ginrai", "Tracker Hound", or any of MANY other examples. Derik's point about the "different configurations of Build King or Ruination" seems to me to actually be a point in favor of the merge, as those alternative configurations aren't considered separate beings. --Khajidha (talk) 07:23, 10 July 2015 (EDT)
- Gaia Guardian isn't a complete Defensor - it's a separate combination and deserves its own page. But "God Guardian" is the full Defensor with a new shield and breastplate, and as such should be treated just as a Defensor variant like all the various who-combines-with-who upgrades of UT Prime. --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 09:41, 10 July 2015 (EDT)
- How is he any less complete than the various configurations of live action Devastator or the Classics Devastator or the comics "Prowlastator"? Just as "Devastator" is any combination of Constructicons, it seems that "Defensor" has become any combination of Protectobots.--Khajidha (talk) 09:51, 10 July 2015 (EDT)
