Talk:Galvatronus (CW)
I'd like to have a link somewhere on this page to Grand Galvatron, such as a {{disambig2{{#if:||{{{2}}}|}}}} or a "see also" section. It feels...dishonest not to mention him anywhere on this page, and it's likely to leave casual readers scratching their heads wondering where "Unite Warriors Galvatronus" is. -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 09:15, 5 February 2016 (EST)
- How's this? --Riptide (talk) 11:21, 5 February 2016 (EST)
- Toy section. "Glavatronus was redecoed into blah blah". Saix (talk) 09:53, 5 February 2016 (EST)
- I'm opposed to the idea of calling it a redeco because the limb components are different. Anyway, I think the disambig2 Riptide added works perfectly. -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 12:12, 5 February 2016 (EST)
I think IDW Galvatronus should get it's own page. He's not a Cyclonus forming a combiner with mind-controlled limbs, he's a completely new combiner character. The only thing the two share is their name, and even then that name has different origins between the two. Zandergb (talk) 12:01, 27 May 2016 (EDT)
Renaming
[edit]Should you rename this as "Galvatronus (Generations)"? since the IDW version of the combiner is completely different from the toy. FigureGunplaFan (talk) 07:57, 28 May 2016 (EDT)
- I wouldn't think so. There's no way the name Galvatronus isn't a direct reference to this character. --Giggidy (talk) 11:41, 28 May 2016 (EDT)
- To the toy, yes. Toy Galvatronus doesn't exist in IDW in any form, so there's no reference at all within the fiction. Tarn the character is a reference to Tarn the location, but they don't share a page. Boat Manta Ray and beast Manta Ray have separate pages, because they're different characters. BW Mangaboss and BWII Magnaboss have their own pages, as they're different characters. The five billion different Arks in IDW each have their own pages. Comic Galvatron has absolutely no direct connection to toy Galvatronus, and toy Galvatronus isn't a toy of comic Galvatronus. They're different combiners, they're composed of different characters, and are combined through different methods. A reference or name reuse does not automatically make two things the same concept.Zandergb (talk) 14:51, 29 May 2016 (EDT)
- Not all those examples work. A location and a character are totally different things; why would they ever share a page? The two Magnabosses have been known to coexist in the same continuity. The two Galvatronuses are not. And IDW Galvatronus is obviously (loosely) based on the toy since exRiD uses Combiner Wars concepts. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by S.H.I.E.L.D. Toy writeup/photo
[edit]It seems weird to me that the toy writeup for Galvatronus names four specific toys as the guys who form his limbs, and then the toy photo uses four other guys. --Andrusi (talk) 10:47, 6 October 2020 (EDT)
Earth Wars history
[edit]Can’t find a source for it yet. Going through live streams to source. But what I remember is Starscream used the Engima of Combination to force Cyclonus, Acid Storm, Mindwipe, Astrotrain and Blitzwing form Galvatromus and used Bombshell's Cerebro-shells to make the combiner loyal to him. Then Ariel later on was able to blast the combiner apart. Galvatronus soon recombined and kept being Starscream's personal bodyguard until a joint Autobot-Decepticon operation was able to make the combiner finally separate. Megatron would later on later have Galvatronus reformed (With the Cerebro-shells now removed). Someone else might need to fill in the gaps here. LordGalvatronYT (talk) 13:24, 17 January 2024 (EST)
