The toys section needs to mention at least' the HOC figurine as him.
Also- the tech-specs IIRC has a common thread between all the releases- Gigatron (though filtered through a US perspective) is almost certainly 'supposed to be' Overlord... but nobody wants to dislodge Overlord from his UK name. -Derik 18:31, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Disambiguation

[edit]

Surely there's a way to merge the two disambig boxes up there into one? It'd look a lot tidier if it could read "This article is about the Powermaster. For the Godmaster, see Overlord; or the for the Predacon Leader in Robots in Disguise, see Megatron (RID)." Of course, I'm a drunken Irish bum and haven't the slightest idea how to make that happen. Multiple didambigs have been bugging me for awhile- there's some articles with 3. We disambig things waaay more than normal Wikipedia articles because of name re-use.
From a technical standpoint, yes it's possible. But can you come up with a visual treatment? One that accommodates all 3 types of the disambig tags? -Derik 15:14, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
I could make a picture of how it might look, but I have no idea how to make the template that would make it work. Jeep! 18:58, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Multi-component Transformer

[edit]

If someone were just reading Gigatron's bio with no knowledge of who he was redecoed from, he would probably conclude he is a triple-changer (the bio is vague on the matter). But since we know he is redecoed from Overlord, I thought the common-sense thing to do would be to consider him a multi-component Transformer, so that's what category I put him in. Just an FYI. - Starfield 18:07, 29 August 2009 (EDT)

Yeah, and this might be a stupid question, but how do we know it's supposed to be Gigatron in Megatron Origin and not Overlord? There's a similar argument made on the SG Overlord page. -Mazenoise 18:20, 29 August 2009 (EDT)

Overlord actually seems much more likely to me, unless we're taking the position that Gigatron is merely the English name for Overlord ... but then this page wouldn't exist at all.--76.167.101.0 18:23, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
I doubt there are any Godmasters in that continuity. - Starfield 18:27, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
Are there any Godmasters in SG continuity? Plus, European Overlord isn't a Godmaster (or even a Powermaster) and like the SG page says, Overlord is way better known than Gigatron. -Mazenoise 18:30, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
There was some discussion on this that was lost in the crash, which essentially consisted of me whining endlessly about how Godmasters are different bloody things to Powermasters and suchlike. However... nngh.... I can't go into it, but I know that something is in the works which will, in the few months, pretty much necessitate the merging of the Overlord and Gigatron pages since it'll blur the line between the two to the extent that there'll be no point distinguishing them. I've already written a revision to do the job which is just waiting on my HD for the appropriate time. - Chris McFeely 18:37, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
So would the article go to "Gigatron" or "Overlord" or do I have to wait and see what the information is? - Starfield 18:46, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
My lip is zipped. - Chris McFeely 18:49, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
It's about time. Hopefully Overlord is the spot, anyway, it's a much cooler name. --Jimsorenson 19:00, 29 August 2009 (EDT)
I bet it's gonna be that Gigatron is the fully-robotic Overlord from the end of Masterforce. That would make so much sense, sort of. -Mazenoise 07:56, 30 August 2009 (EDT)
