Did Grimlock's HOF induction include this Grimlock? -- Cr85747 27 September 2012 6:07 AM (UTC)

Hall Of Fame

[edit]

Considering Hasbro seems to be all-inclusive on names for HoF induction for characters like Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron, I personally think we should include this Grimlock in with the other Grimlocks. We don't list RiD Prime as not being a HoF inductee despite not having a toy present, since Hasbro made the induction all-encompassing for the name "Optimus Prime". If they consider names like Optimus Prime and Megatron all-encompassing, they probably consider names like Grimlock all-encompassing.

So, at least in my eyes, we should probably consider this Grimlock an HoF inductee; but if somebody maybe wants to run the conundrum by Hasbro and FunPub to confirm, that's fine by me (may just do it myself, actually!). MaximalBroadjaw (talk) 17:27, 29 March 2016 (EDT)

I completely disagree. "Grimlock the Dinobot" is the guy in the Hall of Fame, all versions of that character. This guy is simply not a version of that character. --KilMichaelMcC (talk) 17:35, 29 March 2016 (EDT)
Indeed. The Hall of Fame concept of Predaking the combiner doesn't include Prime Predaking after all. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 17:36, 29 March 2016 (EDT)
I'm hesitant to say this, though; we even have the links to the winners over on the HoF page placed on the disambiguation pages for characters, and RiD Grimlock isn't that different from the standard Grimlock outside of a few things; he's still a seasoned warrior, he's still an Autobot; he's only really missing the "turns into a T.rex" portion to be considered a proper Grimlock variant.
And if there was a distinction between the two characters, then I suppose Hasbro would have adknowledged it when Grimlock was inducted. Did they adknowledge RiD Grimlock during Grimlock's induction or not? If not, I'm thinking that the "all characters with this name that have common character elements" idea stands for now. RiD Grimlock is simply the Grimlock of the RiD universe; since he shares the overarching concept of a Grimlock with the others, I feel like he would seem to fall under the blanket of "Grimlock incarnations", but I'm not going to be bold and force the change if it's not needed. Grimlock's hall of fame entry, on the Hasbro website, reads: "Grimlock (Class of 2012) – leader of the Dinobots and wrecking ball for the Autobots." That pretty much explicitly excludes this version of the character. --Ascendron (talk) 18:29, 29 March 2016 (EDT)
Alright, so that's settled, then. Just wanted to clear things up. MaximalBroadjaw (talk) 18:32, 29 March 2016 (EDT)

Move?

[edit]

Should this be moved to Grimlock (RID 2001) since we have a Grimlock (RID 2015) page now? -Foffy the Sheep (talk) 02:36, 8 August 2016 (EDT)

Yes indeed. Jalaguy (talk) 04:40, 8 August 2016 (EDT)
