You know, I'm thinking we need to figure out how we're going too handle the REST of the Club magazine/Newsletter content. Is it really necessary to have the comic portion on a separate page from the other content? Change this main page to "(magazine)" (noting it used to be "newsletter"), start with a brief bullet-point list of contents, like, to use #13 as an example...

Then move on to the usual comic overview. We can make the pages under each comics' name into a redirect so we don't have to change storylinks everywhere... I wonder, can a redirect start you at a sub-heading?

Any rate this way, I think that with the increase of Club fictional content, linking to issues of the newsletter/magazine for References will be smoother --M Sipher 16:28, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Your suggestion sounds okay to me, but I think it might be better to still have the comics on their own pages while also having pages for each issue of the magazine. We can then make sure they link to each other. "For this issue's comic story, see whatever." I imagine people are going to be more interested in looking up the comic content than a list of what features were in a given issue, so I can see listing them separately. Also, yes, you can redirect to a section heading. --Steve-o 18:54, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Games of Deception

[edit]

I don't think it belongs on this page. It happens chronologically after Crossing Over, but it's not a fan club issue, so listing it in the table with them is misleading. --ItsWalky 17:04, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Are the characters who got profiles in the club magazine before appearing in the show and/or getting a toy "Fan Club-original characters"?

[edit]

Are the characters who got profiles in the club magazine before appearing in the show and/or getting a toy (example: Animated Rodimus) Fan Club-original characters? I think technically yes, but the ones with toys already had the toys in development so it isn't like the characters were created for the magazine. - Starfield 18:29, 24 February 2011 (EST)

No, they're absolutely not, because that's not even remotely what "club-original characters" means. --ItsWalky 18:33, 24 February 2011 (EST)

Are Shattered Glass characters with established counterparts "Fan Club-original"?

[edit]

I was thinking about the Shattered Glass characters as I have been putting them in Category:Fan Club-original characters and Category:Convention-original characters. I don't think they are original to the Fan Club and Conventions. They are established characters—just the negative universe versions of them. Any comments? - Starfield 19:31, 24 February 2011 (EST)

I'd say that they are different characters, otherwise why are they on separate pages? --Khajidha 15:14, 25 February 2011 (EST)
Convenience. There is a lot of discussion on the Shattered Glass talk page whether Shattered Glass is G1. From what I understand, the wiki is fudging a little bit in calling it its own Continuity Family. And it is Primax. It's also hard to say Optimus Prime and Megatron are original characters, even their evil versions. - Starfield 15:31, 25 February 2011 (EST)
I'd find it a little pointless to put every SG character in a FC-original category, but I think viewing all SG as the direct mirror counterpart of their other selves is a bit too easy. Certainly, Optimus, Megatron, Starscream, Grimlock etc. are, but Blitzwing? Thunderwing? Beta? They're not different in a way that can be derived from their normalverse selves. And either way, Rook and Andromeda remain FC-original because that's what their normalverse partners are too. Perhaps putting the SG character category in the FC-original category could work as a semi-acknowledgement? Geewunling 15:56, 25 February 2011 (EST)
I kind of thought that was the nature of the SG mirror universe. Everyone there is a counterpart. It even says "For his evil counterpart, see Thunderwing (G1)". But if not, and someone wants to go through case by case that's fine with me. I'd like to leave it in a consistent format. Right now I am halfway done pulling them out of the Fan-Club and Convention-original categories. Should I just quit, or finish up? - Starfield 16:38, 25 February 2011 (EST)
