The other Hot Rod
[edit]In the Henkei!verse, what do they call the other Hot Rod? "Hot Rodimus", or maybe just "Rodimus" like Hasbro does? - Jackpot 14:41, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- "Hot Rodimus". I've "translated" it into "Rodimus" when applicable, since that's the toy's name. —Interrobang 14:43, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Heh. Just as you were writing that, I answered my own question. Thanks, though! - Jackpot 14:45, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
(HH)
[edit]HH? Really? Why not just "Henkei?" --KilMichaelMcC 14:44, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Frankly, if we're abbreviating this, how about we give ourselves a typing break and abbreviate Shattered Glass to SG in article names? --ItsWalky 14:57, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- I was wondering why we didn't do that, actually. —Interrobang 15:33, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Well, I think it's good to have parentheticals that are easily recognizable when readers are browsing through categories. Neither HH nor SG strike me as such. --KilMichaelMcC 19:06, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Agreein' with Kil, over here. - Chris McFeely 19:35, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Yyyyeah. I vote move to (Henkei). --M Sipher 20:22, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Sorry, Walky. (Henkei) as well. It's a heck lot easier to remember than (HH). --Lonegamer78 20:39, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Reminds me, [[Jolt (HH)]] should be Jolt (Henkei!) as well. --Lonegamer78 23:41, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Put me down for (Henkei) too. --Professor Icepick 21:18, 28 March 2009 (EDT)
- Henkei here too. For what it's worth. PS: Someone needs to put Hot Shot in G1 fiction so Hot Rod's name can be undisambiguated. It used to be totally awesome having my favorite character be the only one of that name on the wiki. Greg, Trent... any chance for his presence in Club prose fiction? --Detour 00:05, 29 March 2009 (EDT)

Still confused.
[edit][edit:]Does this toy represent two Henkei! Henkei! Hot Rods? One in the UT and one in the Henkei continuity? Does the package say he's from Armada and the pack-in comic say he's from the Henkei continuity? - Starfield 17:24, 29 March 2009 (EDT)
- The Henkei toy does not reference Armada at all. The Universe toy does. This is the page about the Henkei toy only. --ItsWalky 17:27, 29 March 2009 (EDT)
G1 Hot Shot
[edit]Now, this page makes even more sense. Thanks for noting it (Drift 2).ACIDSTORM92 19:05, 23 September 2010 (EDT)
- How exactly did the page not make sense before? --Detour 19:12, 23 September 2010 (EDT)
Redundancy
[edit]While I find the whole "Alex Milne spites Walky" thing humorous, I also feel it's not important as a whole to the enigma that is Henkei Hot Rod or even Glit, for that matter. I'm not saying the information isn't useful! This site exists to preserve Transformers information, but since it's already stated in the notes for the issue, is it really necessary to parrot it here and on Glit's page? Same thing with Shockwave and Corey Burton being disappointed at how hiss voice in the commercial came out. It's on Corey Burton's page; does it need to be on Shockwave's too? If it doesn't bother anyone, I'd like to trim this trivia down to just being in the article for Drift #2 itself and same with Shockwave. Is that ok? --Rideonshootingstarxx 14:46, 30 September 2010 (EDT)
- I feel it should be explained on any page where the events are recorded. --Khajidha 15:03, 30 September 2010 (EDT)
- Is it really important here though? The explanation only reveals that the reason they died... has nothing to do with Hot Rod or Glit and everything to do with Hot Shot and SG Ravage. I think the trivia is certainly interesting to someone wanting to learn about the issue itself, but does it need mentioning on these characters pages? --Rideonshootingstarxx 23:27, 30 September 2010 (EDT)
- Yes. It is. It explains just WHY they show up in IDW fiction just long enough to die. If we have an explanation for why Saber shows up for a single panel, I don't see why Glit and Hot Rod can't have them. --Detour 23:35, 30 September 2010 (EDT)
- But neither of these characters only show up for a single panel! Saber's only existence in continuity is that panel, so I understand explaining it right there with him so people know who he is. But Hot Rod and Glit both exist outside of this issue, and their cameos here are only because the characters being spitefully murdered can't actually be there. I really don't think that one cameo is interesting enough for either character (who again, the cameo really has nothing to do with THOSE characters). I agree we need to tell why they're given the "hi-then-die"; I just think the character pages are the wrong place. --Rideonshootingstarxx 23:47, 30 September 2010 (EDT)
- Well we have to explain why they're there dying and why it's listed on their page and not on SG Ravage and UT Hot Shot's pages. --Detour 23:50, 30 September 2010 (EDT)
- Do we? Like I said, I don't think we need to know why they're dying on their own pages. I think that's better left to the actual comic issue. As far as explaining why it's on these pages, it's already explained on Hot Rod's page WHY he isn't UT Hot Shot. If people are reading about him, they already know he exists in G1 and so they would understand why a Hot Shot cameo in a comic has t actually be Henkei Hot Rod. If someone wanted to know why they were in that issue, wouldn't the logical step be to click on the issue?

- "Do we?" Yes. Yes we do. We have similar "redundant" information all over this wiki. It serves a critical purpose. --ItsWalky 00:29, 1 October 2010 (EDT)
- What is the critical purpose of repeating it on the character pages? I don't think "redundant" information is always unnecessary, but I really don't think this adds anything to our understanding of those two characters (Glit and Hot Rod). --rideonshootingstarxx 00:34, 1 October 2010 (EDT)

JaAM
[edit]For his toy is the caption intentionally ジャアム? Cuz if it's not then it should be changed to the more proper ジャーム。--BlackStarscream 01:07, 11 June 2012 (EDT)
- I'm pretty sure it's intentional, to match the unnatural stress on the "A". Like Ja'am, I'm thinking?KrytenKoro 09:48, 15 March 2013 (EDT)
"Future leadership"?
[edit]"Despite his secret destiny for future leadership, he still requires much advice from his senior comrades." Where did this come from? --Lonegamer78 22:54, 6 September 2013 (EDT)
- A translation of his bio. It might not be fully accurate, but the general gist fits the Hot Shot/Hot Rod character. Here's the Japanese text, at least. Mimi 23:01, 6 September 2013 (EDT)
- Ah. There we go. --Lonegamer78 23:38, 6 September 2013 (EDT)
Move?
[edit]Er, why would we move this to Hot Shot (Armada) when his first appearance was in a G1 based comic? --abates (talk) 18:12, 15 June 2014 (EDT)
Part Deux
[edit]So surely now that this has been moved, we can greatly trim the giant hand-wringing note section and its massive pretzel logic justifying the article's (old) name?--RosicrucianTalk 15:44, 25 March 2015 (EDT)
Main pic
[edit]As the current main picture is black and white, I propose slightly breaking the rules to use this IDW control art in color from Saren Stone as Hot Shot's main picture. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 18:00, 4 January 2018 (EST)
IDW section.
[edit]Hot Shot's IDW section is a complete mess. All these "other Hot Shots" are just cameos drawn in. It's absolutely ridiculous that we have a cameo of Armada Hot Shot and Energon Hot Shot from the same issue on one page together. 11:52, 13 July 2018 (EDT)
Move
[edit]I'm all for the move. Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 15:46, 21 July 2021 (EDT)
- Requisite "That's not what disambiguation parentheses are for." Him showing up in G1-related stuff doesn't change his franchise of origin. Saix (talk) 16:50, 21 July 2021 (EDT)
I'm in for the move for the sake of easier searches. Nobody's gonna use Henkei as a disambig instinctively and we're not gonna have any other G1 continuity family Hot Shot to be confused with. MrRald (talk) 22:07, 23 July 2021 (EDT)
- Considering we moved Strongarm (G1) from being Strongarm (BWU), I'd argue there's precedent for doing it. TransFormersfan1 (talk) 15:16, 21 August 2021 (EDT)
I am going to shift all the Henkei info over to the Armada page because it is obvious from the story context that Henkei Hot Rod is a dimensional traveller just as the accompanying Dinobot is a time traveler. Does anyone wish to object? S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 19:38, 17 September 2021 (EDT)
