Talk:Humanization
Eating
[edit]- In some fictional depictions, movie megatron devours Sparks. Could this be counted as eating?--Sunjumper 11:24, 12 May 2009 (EDT)
- I wouldn't think so. From what I can tell of the descriptions of Megatron eating, he does it in a very animalistic way. We humans have a tendency not to jump on what we want to eat and going in head first in the chest cavity... We usually prefer to use utensils, and eat sitting down at a diner table. It's more like animalizing, if anything, to make him look more vicious and predator-like. --Ascendron 12:04, 12 May 2009 (EDT)
Do not put spoilers
[edit]Just because Bumblebee 'crying' was seen in the Revenge of the Fallen trailer doesn't mean you have the right to spoil the movie now.65.173.90.94 17:14, 18 May 2009 (EDT)
Devastator
[edit]I don't really think his balls are a form of "humanizing." He is more like a wild beast, so it would be more like "animalizing." Animals have balls, too. - Starfield 10:10, 23 July 2009 (EDT)
- Really? I was not aware that animals do not engage in the following activities: Sweating, Coughing, Breathing, Spitting, Crying, Eating, Flatulence, Urination, Sleeping, Aging, Sexuality
- Nor was I aware that no animals possess: Teeth, tongues, eyeballs, eyelashes, breasts, lips, or hips.--Jimsorenson 11:02, 23 July 2009 (EDT)
- Well sure, but most cases the Transformer is acting human, and those things are there to enhance their human-ness. Devastator lumbers around on all fours, growling and roaring, and without enough sense of modesty to cover his wrecking balls. Beastly. Not "humanizing." - Starfield 11:12, 23 July 2009 (EDT)
Smelling
[edit]Transformers can hear things and see things. Seeing and hearing isn't humanization, why is smelling. Smelling is just another sense. I would think a sentient robot would be able to smell things. - Starfield 07:00, 20 September 2009 (EDT)
- What purpose would sense of smell serve for a Transformer? It's admittedly sort of weird to assume that a race of robots would communicate mainly by talking (how about wireless radio communication or something?), but it's easily acceptable, if only for storyline purposes, and the benefits of sight are obvious, but why would a robot, who comes from a
completelymainly technological planet ever need to smell anything? -Mazenoise 07:14, 20 September 2009 (EDT)- Plenty of reasons. Smell can communicate a lot of things even if you can't immediately see or hear anything. It's basically a form of chemical detection, which I think even robots would find useful. --Jeysie 07:24, 20 September 2009 (EDT)
- Well, if TFs can taste, they probably need smell, too. Hooper_X 09:39, 20 September 2009 (EDT)

Megatron coughing
[edit]Which specific episodes of Beast Wars have Megatron coughing? That bit needs some clarification. (Would do it myself, but I don't know that much about the Beast era.) --NCZ 15:47, 15 September 2010 (EDT)
Old age
[edit]"In an issue of the Marvel UK G1 comics, Kup's systems are going to shut down because he is too old." - which issue is this a reference to? In "Kup's Story!" he has a psychological condition (combat fatigue) but it's not necessarily because of his age is it? And his systems aren't shutting down anyway...unless there's another issue that addresses this? --Emvee 14:17, 23 October 2010 (EDT)
Breathing
[edit]There was actually a deuterocanonical discussion of the BW TFs breathing on ATT back in the day, I think. Bob or Larry one gave the "it helps ventilate" explanation summarized as "Put some tape over the fan on your computer and see what happens." In trying to find it, I did come across a statement from Larry that the BW cast become "fully organic" in beast mode, so they can be strangled, etc. -hx at work 168.30.245.144 12:18, 6 April 2011 (EDT)
Plaster
[edit]
I think this image can be qualified as a sort of humanization, but I'm not sure where it should be placed. --TX55TALK 08:29, 24 May 2011 (EDT)
Facial hair
[edit]Seeing as there is an article dedicated to face fungus, is the very truncated list of who has face fuzz necessary? Bobpiecheese 04:52, 22 January 2012 (EST)
Eyelids
[edit]I wouldn't find it hard to conclude that Transformers have eyelids for one of the same reasons humans do - to protect their optics from damage to a degree. --MissRatbat (talk) 11:03, 31 August 2016 (EDT)
Clarify, please
[edit]"Daytrader is very portly, but he insists his "corpulent comrade" Hound is at more risk of carbon monoxide and a slight oil drinking problem than he is of getting killed in battle." There seems to be one or more words missing here. What in the world is "at risk of carbon monoxide" supposed to mean? --Khajidha (talk) 12:40, 22 March 2021 (EDT)
- To quote the film: "Carbon monoxide—and perhaps a small gasoline drinking problem are gonna kill you long before a bullet, my corpulent comrade." Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 16:42, 22 March 2021 (EDT)
- That's not "at risk of carbon monoxide", that's "at risk of death from carbon monoxide poisoning". --Khajidha (talk) 17:23, 22 March 2021 (EDT)
- I'm aware of that, I was just bringing up the movie quote to clarify where the misinterpretation would've stemmed from. I would've edited the section myself but I was on my phone before and it locks up pretty bad when editing anything other than talk pages. Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 17:56, 22 March 2021 (EDT)
