Talk:Hun-Gurrr (G1)

Can't find a good pic of ol' Hun-gurrrrrrrrr, which is sad, because I think out of every transformer ever, he's the one most fitting of a "Get in my belly!" caption. --UndeadScottsman 15:24, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Added a new profile pic. Took me awhile to get rid of the watermark on it, though. --FFN 07:52, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I'd like to say how amusing it was to see that the guy who originally made this article (though for the purposes of vandalism) didn't realize Hun-Gurrr was a G1 TF. --FFN 07:05, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

'Kin we get a pic of his base mode? -Derik 08:36, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
You mean art of it? I just grabbed his profile art off those chinese scans, and I was having a hard time finding pics of his toy, which is why his toy section is unusually empty --FFN 10:01, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Whatever. Does art exist? It's been forever since i read Zob's write-up on the base modes. -Derik 10:02, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Nah, none of the MTMTE pages that I can see (I never bought them) have the base modes. I didn't even know he had a base mode until I did a google search. --FFN 11:06, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Here's a question, should I go through all the various comics and cartoon episodes and change things to "Hun-Gurrr" even if they used alternate spellings in the media themeselves? Or should I just wire a link to Hun-Gurrr's page while maintaining the "Grrr" spelling or whatever?

I think changing everything to "Hun-Gurrr" would be suggesting that that spelling is the correct one. There's so many iterations of it, even on the toy packaging itself, that I seriously don't think there's any "right" version. Just spell 'em in each section to match how they're used, I figger. --ItsWalky 21:44, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
Righto then.. Off to make a whole bunch of [Hun-Gurrr|Hun-Grrr] links then. :D --UndeadScottsman 21:45, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
If you redirect [[Hun-Gurrr|Hun-Grrr]] and all various spellings to this article, you won't have to do that. --ItsWalky 21:46, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
I figured that would be what you wouldn't want to have done, as it would leave that "redirected from xxxx" title at the top of the page, which wouldn't something you want for inter-page links since it can be avoid. But you're the admin. :D --UndeadScottsman 21:51, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Spelling consistency

[edit]

Is the fact that the spelling of his name varies throughout the article text deliberate? I thought we were supposed to use one spelling in the article itself and mention the others in the "also known as" sentence and detail where they are used in the notes at the end. I was going to harmonize the spelling and wanted to check if it was supposed to be a running gag in this article before I did it. --Khajidha 07:05, 28 January 2013 (EST)

I think it's because his name is spelt differently in almost every incarnation so, say, the Marvel write-up reflects how it was spelt there. Whether that's something we want to keep or not is another matter --Emvee 07:16, 28 January 2013 (EST)
Even if we do want that, why is his named spelled two different ways in the Marvel Comics section? And the Marvel UK section. And the IDW section. I think either A) we change all spellings within the article itself to be consistent or B) we make each instance of his name different from the previous one as a joke. What we have now is confusing.--Khajidha 07:45, 28 January 2013 (EST)
The name is spelled two different ways in those sections because it actually wasn't consistent in the comics those sections are about - at the very least, the spelling has changed in the IDW continuity as of "Before & After", so the article switches spelling at that point. This article handles it the way all name changes are handled - see the IDW section on Bluestreak's page, for instance. --Flicky1991 07:50, 28 January 2013 (EST)
Huh... I had never noticed that. Personally, I find that more confusing (not to mention inconsistent with how we translate the names from the Japanese fiction), but if that is the standard I will deal with it. --Khajidha 08:40, 28 January 2013 (EST)

Disambig

[edit]

This needs to be disambiged with the Prime version, but I can't find what spelling you guys hid it under.KrytenKoro 23:57, 11 February 2013 (EST)

I don't think we have a page for the Prime version yet. --abates 01:13, 12 February 2013 (EST)

Power of the Primes Toy

[edit]

'"Terrorcon Hun-Gurrr"... is a heavy retool of Combiner Wars Silverbolt.' Do we have any confirmation of this? For the life of me I can't spot a single shared part; isn't he more of a shared engineering situation ala TR Chromedome and CW Dead End? Indianawalsh (talk) 22:18, 24 October 2017 (EDT)

It looks more like shared engineering to me too, I'd rather wait until we have the actual toy to make a declaration either way. Omegatron (talk) 07:28, 25 October 2017 (EDT)
