Talk:Jazz (Movie)

Sorry is my question seems silly, but I'm new to this whole Wiki thing. I recently purchased a Jazz movie toy from Target. My question is: Would it be legal/ethical to post the toy's bio text in the otherwise lacking article section? Further, would it be permitted to expound a bit on the toy's features? SilentSooYun

Legal? Well, yeah. Ethical? Odd question. But either way, that's not something we do here. We have a pretty firm policy against cut-and-paste information from other sources, be it official bios or even wikipedia. Sum up the character in your own words. --M Sipher 14:36, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
I think he should wait until the street date, for the reasons stated under "Unofficial releases" on the Policy page. --Sntint 17:13, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Fuck 'Street date' and the horse it rode in on. -Derik 18:01, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Ignoring its writer being an admin, I don't think off-site webcomics determine site policy. But what does everybody else say? --Sntint 18:14, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
I understand and concede posting the bio, and I agree it would be best to wait for a more official movie source for more Jazz info. But would it still be acceptable to update the toy info? This is the actual toy, after all. SilentSooYun 18:27, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
That's probably safe. Hasbro's officially released at least pics of the toy (which are frequently the basis for toy write-ups,) go ahead. -Derik 18:30, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

We don't just post verbatim transcripts, so... no. You can use it to write a proper bio for him though. -Derik 14:34, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

The very last trivia... it's not accurate. There is a close up of his face after Megatron blasts him with his canon. It's barely 2 sec. long, but it's there. Kyouraku-taichou 23:08, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

He's dead.

Jazz is dead.

We can't take anything at face value. Michael Bay himself said he'd be using the internet to spread around false information along with real stuff to throw us off. --Detour 17:17, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
BUT IT CAN'T BE! YOU'RE DEAD! I SAW YOU DIE! --ItsWalky 17:23, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

not avalible?

[edit]

Why is the the Legands Battle Jazz vs. Ice Megatron still considered not avalible? I just saw them at Wal-Mart.Autobot Soundwave 02:55, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

ROTF manga rumor?

[edit]
"Some in the fandom cannot accept Jazz's death. They speculated insistently that Jazz would come back to life in Revenge of the Fallen. Despite his dead status remaining unchanged in the film, some have spread a rumour that he's alive in a manga adaptation of Revenge of the Fallen, in which he's supposed to be part of the final battle, killing Long Haul and impaling Megatron's leg." This is purely speculation and has no place in the article. It's like i would say that Jazz has his own rap number in the manga.--Sunjumper 14:39, 15 August 2009 (EDT)
It's from a dumb topic on TFW, so I got rid of it. -Mazenoise 14:44, 15 August 2009 (EDT)
there's a manga adaptation??--154.5.24.186 17:49, 31 December 2011 (EST)
No, there isn't. --abates 18:02, 31 December 2011 (EST)

About Jazz being torn in half

[edit]

If you look closely you can see his spark core take damage. Felt it should be added. ZeldaTheSwordsman 15:11, 9 March 2010 (EST)

Human Alliance

[edit]

How come the Human Alliance section isn't full? I don't have the toy, so I can't add anything. 99.116.253.129 00:27, 10 August 2010 (EDT)

Congratulations, you answered your own question. --ItsWalky 00:59, 10 August 2010 (EDT)

Target-exclusive variant?

[edit]

So, I purchased one of the Target-exclusive G1-deco Jazz toys a while back, and the visor was apparently the same one used for the Final Battle Jazz mold, with the sculpted 'battle damage' on one side of the visor. The toy was still sealed, so it wasn't the seller being tricksy (especially since I ordered it via Amazon, if I remember correctly), so I have to wonder if this is a variant of some sort, or if only a handful of them were released with this production error?

Like a bonehead, I sold the Jazz without snapping a photo of the visor, so I can't actually prove this, but I'm hoping someone else has one with the same visor and can back me up, or at least let me know if it's just a random factory error. --Boy Blunderous 02:26, 17 May 2011 (PDT)

Mainpic

[edit]

I think that his mainpic should be the more movie-accurate one, the one with the black background. Mind if I change it back?

I think that since the person who uploaded that version over the current one was told not to do that, it would probably not be a good idea. --Khajidha 21:51, 13 May 2013 (EDT)

Movie The Best

[edit]

In the article, it claims Movie The Best Jazz is a redeco of Final Battle Jazz with the original, non-damaged head. However, it also claims that the battle damage of the Final Battle version was merely deco - it was not. The lower body of the robot mode was almost entirely retooled to have damaged sculpt details as well, which the Movie The Best version lacks. I'm almost certain this is just a redeco of the original Jazz toy but with the Final Battle weapon. Is there anyone who can verify this, i.e. someone who owns it? And whether or not it has the retooled hood joints? --King Starscream (talk) 15:20, 26 April 2018 (EDT)

Probably need verification
