Should there be something here about the fact that "Junk" is also the name of a Japanese mini-con? (Iceberg, IIRC) Also, Junko/Kelly? -hx 02:01, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Possibly, I didn't know that the name was reused at any point in time.
Also, why is the planet, and everything on it, so damn orange? --Octopus Prime- King of the Road! 00:15, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- Everyone knows rust is orange! --ItsWalky 00:17, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes but.... shut up!--Octopus Prime- King of the Road! 00:25, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
- There should be a note that there is some confusion about the planet's actual name, owing to the ambiguity of Perceptor's line in the movie (ie, if he meant "the planet of junk" or "the planet of Junk"). Here's what I've dug up on the subject.
- The season 3 Autobot history trailer refers to the planet as "Junkion"; Sky Lynx, Cyclonus, Rodimus Prime and everyone else consistently call the planet Junkion in Big Broadcast of 2006 (Sky Lynx also mentions a "Junkion sector"); and a Quintesson hologram refers to the planet as Junkion in The Killing Jar.
- Digging up the early Movie script... it's called "the planet of Junk" once, the "Junk Planet" twice, but is consistently "Junkion" in the action descriptions. To wit:
- THE EDGE OF A HUGE, SHADOWY PLANET IN SPACE
- as Ultra Magnus' Shuttle is BUFFETED BY WINDS AND STORMS as it enters the atmosphere of JUNKION.
- And:
- CUT TO:
- DEEP SPACE - THE PLANET JUNKION
- ANGLE ON ULTRA MAGNUS' SHUTTLE
- Along with several other consistent references like this throughout.
- The use of the name "Junk" for the planetoid, I reckon, comes from people mis-interpreting Perceptor's statement in the final film. However - at the same time - I believe the UK comics DID call the planet "Junk", presumably because Furman didn't have access to a copy of the script or the cartoon story bible and thus made the same audio-based mistake.
- So... I'm not sure how to resolve this. The planet has a different name depending on the continuity, basically. -- Monzo 14:29, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, I'm stopping fixing links until I get an answer to this--
- Paradron is Paradron (planet), bot ALL OTHER parenthetical clarifications are capitalized, like Junkion (Planet). Brfore I got back and fix any more- si Junkion (Planet) correct?
- (and I'm fightign an urge to totally reorganize everythign so we have Junkion/Junkions instead of Junkion/Junkion (Planet). Since fixing all those links would be a lot of work, the urge is not too difficult to fight.)-Derik 00:38, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- That's because most parentheticals are Proper Nouns, like Decepticon, UT, or Mini-Con. It should be Junkion (planet), just as it's Cybertron (planet), because planet is a common noun. --ItsWalky 00:46, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
