Article name
[edit]- (When created, this article was initially called "Master Switch".)
I think this needs a different name. Something more "We're using a description since it doesn't have a name" and less "We're making up a name for it." --KilMichaelMcC 16:23, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- Strongly agreed. --Steve-o 03:24, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- I wasnt sure what else could be used for as the article name. As far as I remember, the device was never named and it was simply referred to as a "switch" by the Quintessons. Would have been nice if they named the thing but alas :( any suggestions? --Darth Batrus 20:46, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- I think that simply decapitalizing to "master switch" (with the article moved to "Master switch" since the first letter must be capitalized) is good enough. Additionally you can put the first use of the term in quotation marks. It's good that you already refer to it in the article body simply as "the switch" most of the time. --Steve-o 03:58, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- It'd be totally hilarious if you moved it to Large switch, though. Interrobang 05:55, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Or perhaps "A Large Switch".--MCRG 07:09, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- We generally don't put articles like "A" in titles. But "large switch" is pretty good. "Big-ass switch" would also be funny, but maybe a bit too much. --Steve-o 18:40, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Wait. I'm not really up on my G1 cartoon, but this isn't the same thing as the Plasma Energy Chamber? Chip 02:56, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

- No, that's different. The Key was small, black, and portable. As for a move, I agree that Master switch would probably be a better name, but since this conversation is two months old, I don't know what effect that will have -- SFH 03:15, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- My two cents would be to move it to "kill switch" (or "killswitch"), that being the title of the Binaltech story chapter that incorporates it, the closest thing to any kind of real name for the thing, and a good descriptive name for it. - Chris McFeely 22:40, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
The fact that this thing (which can shut down EVERY TRANSFORMER EVERYWHERE) has such a simple description is absolutely hilarious. --Spectre 23:38, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
I rather like McFeely's suggestion of "Kill switch" for this. -Derik 04:16, 6 May 2009 (EDT)
