Talk:Longarm (Movie)
Just for the sake of being difficult, I think we should use the heads that are appropriate to the faction each drone is normally associated with. Ergo, Longarm's main picture should be of the Autobot version.Chip 21:37, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- I was just about to suggest this myself. --Andrusi 21:57, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- One of the users on the ARG gave me nice pics of both variants. I'm going to upload these, 'cuz they're much nicer.
- Anyone want ot guide me on which robot should get which head? -Derik 09:00, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
The tow truck Longarm is based upon (according to the toy, anyway) is the same tow truck Mikaela uses to drive Bumblebee in the 'I'll drive, you shoot' scene. I assume Traveller's Tales and then Hasbro just chose this truck at random for inspiration, but does that qualify as a movie appearance in the fiction section? --FFN 16:26, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- It qualifies as a trivia item. It doesn't qualify an appearance by the character, as in the movie that truck is, presumably, just a truck. --KilMichaelMcC 16:59, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's a differnet model of truck, albeit with the same markings. Occam's Razor would suggest that they're simply part of the same company's fleet, particularly since I don't imagine the truck in the movie will show any evidence of being a Transformer. Chip 18:09, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- Remember, the movie is merely fiction in the world where Longarm exists. (Since almost all of the Movie's expanded universe seems to rooted in the S7-Hungry Dragon paradigm.)
- It's possible that Longarm chose this form to look in on the filming of Hungry Dragon 2, or simply while doing so. That would mean it's not a coincidence... but ti doesn't mean anything either. -Derik 18:19, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
As Derik noted in David's LJ, how do we handle Longarm now? The Screen Battles set with the changes to its deco to match the movie truck and the addition of a Mikaela driver figuerine seems to suggest that Hasbro views this guy as the truck Mikaela uses, or at least its proxy. --FFN 10:54, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- I have nothing useful to say but... "flogged by Hasbro"? You naughty man! --ItsWalky 14:08, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- >:D Bwahahahaha. Flogged, as in slang for 'sell'. --FFN 15:35, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Restarting this as nobody cared the last time - Longarm's Screen Battles bio says he's the truck Mikaela uses. So what do we say? --FFN 06:48, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
- Say it's him, note the toy doesn't match the truck seen in the movie. I mean- toy not matching the guy he's supposed to be has happened before, right? -Derik 07:00, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Abandoned feature?
[edit]So I just opened Longarm, and I was annoyed that his huge cannon is screwed to his hand. So I unscrewed it. And then I went "Man, I wish there was a way he could hold it." But interestingly enough, he actually *can.* There's a peg on the other side, and a perfectly-sized hole in his 'left' hand. This cannot be a coincidence. Deserves mention? I think so. 71.60.159.181 01:19, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- Is it just a standard-sized peg and hole? If so... no big deal. --Steve-o 05:40, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- Isn't that, you know, part of the transformation to truck mode so he holds together? --M Sipher 15:27, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Appearence in issue #2 of the Prequel comic
[edit]Just wanted to point out the following: On page 4 (the 1st flash back panel of this issue) There is a bunch of pre-earth Longarm drones with the toy head on the decepticon side. Hell, they even have the chest design minus the diamond texture and arm kibble. Hawt. --Dr Syn 22 October 2007
Longarm Vs Longarm
[edit]Both Joe Kyde and Forest Lee confirmed at BotCon 2008 that movie Inferno's Mini-Con partner is also named "Longarm". Soooooooo... how the hell do we handle this? I'd want to confirm if he's actually and specifically called a "Mini-Con" anywhere on the package, first of all... --M Sipher 20:52, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- So, yeah. how do we want to handle this, especially given that there are now Decepticon Longarms in more than one media? Medium? Medii? --M Sipher 22:23, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Orson
[edit]A new anon-IP contributor added this bit to the trivia point about "Orson": "as well as Orson Welles, the actor who voiced Unicron in the original animated movie". I was going to delete it out of hand for lack of citation, but we don't really have one for the rest of the note, either...--Apcog 10:13, 18 August 2009 (EDT)
This page is missing a section!
[edit]This page is currently missing a section of longarm appearing in the movies. Please add this section to this page. --User optimus 01:33, 7 September 2012 (EDT)user optimus
- Longarm didn't appear in the movies, hence why there isn't a section on his non-appearance. Bobpiecheese 01:37, 7 September 2012 (EDT)
