The Red Wizard's name in King Grimlock may not be Mara-Al-Utha

[edit]

In The Transformers, The Red Wizard is specifically revealed to be the Quintesson named Mara-Al-Utha. However, in King Grimlock there's a bio/character sheet for The Red Wizard, who is also revealed to be a Quintesson, in the back, and in the 'character name' section of the sheet it says "Real Name Unknown". So, without a source saying the KG Red Wizard is also Mara-Al-Utha, (I may just not know of it if there is) then I don't think the King Grimlock section should be on this page. IF there was a page for Red Wizard, however, then both Quintesson characters who were revealed to be the Red Wizard could be on one page. Not sure if that's best? --Karanseraph (talk) 21:52, 18 July 2023 (EDT)

It's absolutely meant to be Mara-Al-Utha. Being as literal as possible about this sort of thing is not how we do things. Escargon (talk)
Yeah, it says "Real name unknown" because it's meant to be in-universe fiction and the Menonians don't know who he is. Hence the bit at the start of the bio about him being rumoured to come from a far away land. It's not meant to be a suggestion that it's not Mara-Al-Utha unless the creative team have said something I missed. --abates (talk) 01:45, 19 July 2023 (EDT)
But then why list his race as Quintesson when that's an in universe reveal as well? Combined with the King Grimlock Red Wizard being an entirely different style of Quintesson (a Judge rather than a Scientist) I can understand not counting them as the same person. They probably are intended to be anyway, but it's just a mess in general. --Tindalos (talk) 07:41, 19 July 2023 (EDT)
This is overthinking it. It's a Quintesson exile to Menonia with the same title. There's no point in separating two incarnations of the same concept just because King Grimlock took some artistic license. Saix (talk) 12:22, 19 July 2023 (EDT)
If I had to guess, they probably made him a judge because it makes him more recognisable as a Quintesson to more casual readers. His humanoid disguise is identical to the one in the show. --abates (talk) 17:57, 19 July 2023 (EDT)
